01/01/2026
Well.
It’s not necessarily been a secret but January 1, 2026 sounds like the perfect time to announce it publicly.
I am retiring from weddings in October.
It sounds so strange to even say it. Being a wedding photographer and playing a tiny part in your lives this way has been the MOST important thing to me for nearly 19 years. I have truly loved every second. But it’s time.
I first told someone - actually, one of my sweet brides and friends - that I was moving towards retirement almost 4 years ago. But how do you know when to? How do you decide which wedding is your last??
This October, I will photograph dear friends of mine promising forever to each other and when they reached out, I knew it was the answer. I will end this beautiful career with their wedding. The honor of doing so makes me want to cry, even now.
So, I’d love to fill up 2026 with some more weddings and still deeply appreciate your recommendations to those getting married. My weddings this year will be so precious to me, my last few times serving my couples the best I can, with all I have. Just as I’ve done for almost 2 decades.
I’m not hanging up my gear.
I’m just hanging up my reception shoes.
It’s been a wonderful ride.
And if you need a wedding photographer this year, it would be the honor of my life to have you in front of my lens.
Happy New Year. 🥹
