El Vaquero Newspaper Glendale Community College Newspaper It publishes seven to eight times during the fall and spring semesters with a multitalented staff of 15 to 20 students.

El Vaquero is the student newspaper of Glendale Community College, serving the wide interests and information needs of a diverse student body of more than 25,000 full-time and part-time students. The student newspaper, now in its 85th year, is a venerable part of campus history. El Vaquero trains and develops writers, editors, photographers, and design artists while producing a publication that ha

s gained praise throughout the college community. Many alumni have gone on to write for other journalistic publications, newspapers, and magazines. There is a preparatory class, Reporting the News (Journalism 102), that most students take before joining the newspaper class (Journalism 103 and 104). Photographers should take photojournalism (Journalism 110). If you have an innate curiosity about what goes on around you and a love for words, pictures, or computer graphics, you are encouraged to join El Vaquero. Heads up! The 13th issue of The Insider is here!

The Summer/Fall 2022 issue includes student reporting on our recent in-person graduation, GCC's feats in Athletics, CalFresh ambassador support to our community, DSPS support to students in the remote learning space, a feature on the founder of Women's History Month, an interview with our first Pulitzer Center Consortium fellow, and more.

Print copies will be available in limited copies outside of Sierra Vista 130 on campus, starting in the Fall semester.
