DEFENSE WINS THE NIGHT

Friday night in Glenwood City delivered exactly the kind of high school football matchup you hope for — two undefeated, highly ranked Division 7 teams, a packed atmosphere and a battle that came down to the wire. When the final whistle sounded, it was the Glenwood City Hilltoppers on top, 7–0 over Boyceville. The Hilltoppers' defense was outstanding, pitching its second shutout of the season and holding a Boyceville offense that had scored 84 points in its first two games completely off the scoreboard. With the win, Glenwood City moves to 3–0 on the season and has allowed just 14 points through three games — an incredible 4.7 points per game. And on this night, the Hilltoppers came out on top of one of the area's biggest early-season matchups. A few moments from Friday night's battle under the lights.

TUESDAY NIGHT VOLLEYBALL IN GLENWOOD CITY

The Glenwood City gym was buzzing Tuesday night as Glenwood City, New Auburn and Frederic battled it out in a competitive volleyball triangular. New Auburn came away with the top finish, going 2–0 on the night, including a 25–15, 25–20 victory over Glenwood City. The Hilltoppers battled point-for-point throughout the evening, creating plenty of exciting rallies, big swings, tough defensive plays. A great night of volleyball, competition and energy in Glenwood City!

Jacob Maes Photography took on Chicago this weekend for a high school senior portrait experience and we couldn’t be happier with the weekend we had, the people we spent it with and the things that we got to do and see - all in too short of a period of time, but well worth it as well! Sneak peek of Theo Kowalski • Class of 2027

A coming right up! When Theo's parents reached out to photograph his senior portraits -- we couldn't be happier for the opportunity to work with them! We were connected with Jerrett during our graduate school days and remember when his children were a few years younger - so it is hard to believe that Theo is already a senior in high school. Theo is (if we have it correct) our first high school senior from Chetek-Weyerhaeuser High School who is involved on the baseball and ice fishing teams and heavily involved in the technology department (woodworking, welding, electrical, mechanics, etc.). We were able to see Theo on the baseball field this past spring, but officially met him tonight and he was a very personable, funny, hard-working and charismatic young man. When he is not focused on school, Theo enjoys being outdoors either hunting or fishing or he is working hard at jobs to earn some money. We enjoyed our time with the Kowalski's today as we highlighted some causal summer portraits for Theo, as well as his baseball career as well -- and let us tell you, we think we got some pretty cool baseball portraits! We will see more from Theo in the fall for some causal fall portraits, but until then, enjoy this sneak peek of Theo Kowalski, Class of 2027!

Sneak peek of Charlie Bogie • Class of 2027

Another high school senior on this lovely Sunday evening. This time we feature Charlie Bogie of Glenwood City who had his senior portrait session tonight with some special, meaningful and unique locations tonight that no other highs school senior will have this year! Even better, we got to feature his "red rocket" of a car in some as well, as you will see in his sneak peek! Charlie is a Glenwood City High School senior who enjoys playing sports (wrestling and track and field in high school), driving cars and going fishing. When he is not doing these things, he will be found working and earning some money for his future. We look forward to the Bogie's seeing these sneak peeks as well as the rest of the images from Charlie's high school senior portrait session! Sneak peek of Brennon Colbeth • Class of 2027

What can we say about this high school senior?! We can start with our long standing relationship with the Colbeth family starting back when his older brothers were in high school of which we were able to photograph their senior portraits as well. Now we are here, getting to capture Brennon in all his glory! Brennon is a high school senior at Clear Lake who also is serving as one of our SRREPS2027. He is involved in football, wrestling and golf and when not in sports, he enjoys leisure golfing, spending time with friends and experiencing life as independently as he is able. We remember Brennon from so many years ago when we would hang out at the Colbeth house and now he is a fully grown (almost adult) as a senior in high school -- time just goes by and we can't believe that he is already a senior! At this session, we were able to feature some golf sports portraits, as well as summer casual portraits as well and we will have even more previews for you all during his fall session as well. Sneak peek of William Obermueller • Class of 2027

Before we started off our weekend, we ended the week with another high school senior -- who is one of our Senior Representatives -- William Obermueller. We were fortunate to have his older brother as a senior last year as well, but William is different in many ways which made his first session unique. His personality was able to shine through from athletics to being silly and going in/on/to places that he maybe "shouldn't" be. Even though William may not like and/or be good at photographs, he did great on this first session and we hope that it will continue as we get some golf and fall portraits in the near future. We look forward to watching William grow in his senior year of high school and to see where his future will take him and the things that he will accomplish in the process. Until we get to that point (May 2027) and his next session, please enjoy this sneak peek of William Obermueller, Class of 2027!
