IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Going forward, for the foreseeable future, I will no longer be posting the faces of young children on any of my social media. This is in direct response to the August 25th ruling that possessing AI generated images of children in explicit manners is somehow allowed under freedom of speech.
This is absolutely horrific. Words cannot describe how disgusting and atrocious this is. AI does not "create" children's faces - it uses already uploaded material to piece together an image. And while I know that I am just a drop in an ocean, that my page may not make a dent in this crisis, I do not want to add any fuel to the fire. I love the families I work with, I adore the kiddos I get to meet and watch grow, and I’m just no longer comfortable sharing the faces of young children.
What does that mean for you and your photos? Absolutely nothing! Nothing will change in my sessions at all. We will photograph your amazing family with all those smiling faces, those sweet giggles, those funny silly faces. You will still receive all the deliverable images showcasing every moment we captured.
The only change will be in my posting. I will only be sharing images with children 16 and under facing away, or edited images where their faces have been blocked (and then as an extra layer of protection, the images with stickers or blocked faces are screenshots so that the stickers cannot be removed). This will be for all families, all sessions, even if permission is given to share the photo in its entirety. High school grads will only be shared if 17+ and with express permission. You of course can still post the images however and where you like! My socials are public and seen by thousand(s), so for now, this is the best route I can take.
I hope that this is not forever. I hope that this is not a "new normal". I hope that better safe guards will be put into place, better protections for our children, so that these kiddos can have a better world than is what is currently being offered. But until something changes, I hope you can still enjoy all the sweet moments I get the privilege of sharing ❤
