Want those BIG Colorado mountain views? Part 2 is for you.

Some of my favorite places to elope in Central Colorado are Breckenridge + Summit County, Leadville, Buena Vista, and Salida.
And while they’re all mountain destinations, they definitely don’t give you the exact same experience.
Summit County gives you SO many options around Breckenridge, Dillon, Frisco, Silverthorne, and Keystone. Leadville brings alpine scenery and historic Colorado charm. Buena Vista has huge mountain views, lakes, and plenty of room for adventure. And Salida gives you mountains, the Arkansas River, and one of my favorite little Colorado towns to explore afterward.
This is also where you can make the drive itself part of your elopement day.
Explore a mountain pass. Go off-roading. Stop somewhere because the view is freaking amazing. Hike to a lake. Wander through town. Grab a b**r. Have a picnic somewhere ridiculously pretty.
Your Colorado elopement location doesn’t have to be one single spot where you show up, say your vows, take photos, and leave.
You can actually experience the place you’re getting married.
So where are we going?

New here? Hi!! I’m Lauren 👋💙

I’m the photographer behind Lasting Embers Photography, and if you’re wondering who you’d actually be spending your elopement day with… here’s a little about me!
I’m a Colorado elopement photographer, dog mom to Daisy 🐾, scuba diver, avid traveler, lover of good food, and someone who is always down to explore somewhere new.
Outside of photography, I love thriller novels, a good Chipotle burrito bowl, LOTR, working out, and traveling any chance I get. I will happily spend my day hiking through the mountains and then spend my evening on the couch watching a scary movie or cartoons 😂
I’ve also been told I’m a “textbook Sagittarius,” so… do with that information what you will. 😂♐️
Give me mountains, a road trip, a cool trail, or the chance to get underwater with some sharks or sea critters, and I’m happy 😂

When I’m behind the camera, I care about a lot more than just taking beautiful photos. I want to get to know you (and your dog), help you plan a day you’re genuinely excited about, find incredible places to explore, and document all the little pieces of it along the way.
I spend a LOT of time exploring Colorado and scouting locations firsthand, from mountain passes and alpine lakes to waterfalls, forests, overlooks, and little mountain towns. 🏔️ And if you want to bring your dog along? Even better. 😂🐾
Basically, I’m here for couples who want beautiful photos and a really freaking good time getting them.

Looking for the best places to elope in Colorado without heading hours into the mountains? Start with the Front Range. 🏔️
For Part 1 of my favorite Colorado elopement locations, we’ve got Boulder, Estes Park + Rocky Mountain National Park, Evergreen, Golden, and South Valley Park.
And I love the front range because there is SO much variety not too far from Denver and Denver international airport.
You can exchange vows surrounded by mountain views in Boulder, explore the Rockies around Estes Park, disappear into the forests around Evergreen, grab a b**r in Golden after your ceremony, or trade the classic mountain backdrop for the red sandstone scenery at South Valley Park.
Plus, being closer to Denver can make things a whole lot easier if you’re flying into Colorado, bringing guests, or simply don’t want to spend half your day in the car.
As a Colorado elopement photographer, I’m always looking beyond just the view when helping couples choose a location. Accessibility, privacy, crowds, time of day, activities, and what you actually want to DO all matter too.

S + J got married in Frisco, Colorado 🤍🏔️
Their day had a little bit of everything. Getting ready with their favorite people, mountain views, happy tears, a beautiful ceremony, family hugs, time together for portraits, and one VERY fun dance floor to finish the night. 😂
I love seeing an entire wedding day come together like this. All the quiet little moments mixed in with the big ones, and then watching everyone let loose once the music starts.

Proof that fairytale weddings don’t require castles✨
Just a wedding dress, a forest, a creek, a hidden waterfall, and the Colorado mountains.

Crested Butte has a little bit of everything that makes a Colorado elopement ridiculously magical, especially in the summer when everything is green and the wildflowers start showing off.

Give me a day spent wandering through places like this over a ballroom any day.
