Since fair season is here, I feel like this needs to be saidā¦
Showing livestock does not give anyone the right to steal a photographerās work.
Photographers spend hundreds, sometimes thousands, of dollars on cameras, lenses, equipment, editing programs, and travel just to be able to capture these memories for you. We spend hours sorting through photos, editing, and making sure you have something special to look back on.
Just because you or your animal is in the picture does not mean you own the photo. Taking screenshots, cropping out watermarks, removing tags, reposting without permission, or using someoneās work as if you took it yourself is disrespectful and takes away from the person who created it.
Most photographers LOVE seeing their work shared and appreciated ā thatās why weāre there. But there is a difference between sharing a photo with credit and taking someoneās hard work.
Support the people behind the camera. Ask before using photos, tag the photographer, and remember that every image has someoneās time, talent, and money behind it. šø
Respect goes both ways. We are there to capture your biggest moments ā please respect ours too. I will be at the fair this upcoming week and yes if i take pictures of you showing i will have watermarks on my pictures. If you want the pictures please just message me and i will give you the one without the watermark and you donāt have to pay at all. But if i see any Ive taken with a watermark posted anywhere Iām sorry i will not take any more of you during the week. And all you have to do is message me to get them knowing they will be free and everyone knows pictures look better without watermarks anyways so donāt be that person please.
