interim-city manager Jeff Reese on Wednesday confirms plans to become city manager for this autumn…
He posted via his personal page:
“My friends,
Some of you know that effective the first week of November, I will be leaving as the Interim City Manager for the City of Villa Rica. While this job was always an “interim” six month job, I wanted to reach out to everyone and make it known officially.
I have accepted the job as the full-time City Manager in nearby Bowdon, Georgia, effective the first week of November.
Coming out of retirement wasn’t an easy decision for Teresa and I but I believe that it was the right decision. The Villa Rica employees and I have made great progress in getting the city back on track. We’re not there yet and although frustrating, it’s impossible to unwind a watch that quickly. But rest assured that I am leaving the city that I love better than I found it.
Much work remains and I remain ready to help as needed and I have expressed that to the elected officials and staff.
I can tell you that the staff that works for you every day are hard working, dedicated and determined to make Villa Rica a better place to live, work and play. To them, I offer my heartfelt gratitude.
I would suggest that each of you stay involved in your local government and would humbly ask that you turn your attention to recreating the community that once existed back in 1998 when I moved to Villa Rica as a full-time resident. One where working together was a common goal and problems were an opportunity, not a billboard. Unfortunately, negative energy abounds in our society and without solutions, problems are never eliminated.
On a personal note. I love each of you and I could never thank you enough for your support, your friendship and your prayers.
Villa Rica will always be my home town and will always remain a special place in my heart. Please continue to pray for Teresa and I would ask for your continued support and prayers for me as well.
God bless you and your families and may God bless the City of Villa Rica.
Sincerely,
Jeff Reese”
