Kicka** mom of five, businesswoman, athlete, gymnast, friend. She's drama-free with a calm strength, tenacity, authority, kindness & patience... all which make her a wonderful teacher & great inspiration!!! (I speak from experience, after taking her adult gymnastics class a few years ago! 🙌🏽)

We’d just finished Day 1 of her team shoot & she was so resistant to let me take her picture. But I gave her the hard sell & promised that if she hated it, I'll delete it from our lives forever. ❤️(Meant it! I'm a firm believer in photographic karma 😉)

No regrets. "Okay, now I'm glad you made me do it, April." 😆And this became her profile pic of the season. ❤️❤️❤️

From the day I did the team photos to create their yearbook at my friend Marti's gym in Burleson.

Marti & I were middle school classmates - we hung out in PE together, of all classes ;) where she'd just pop out a back handspring on the go, wherever she felt the urge. And she was teaching tumbling to her friends before she even reached her teens! Marti's one of those who knew exactly what her passion was & what she wanted from life since she was a kid. And oh so talented! And these girls on her winning gym team... soooo impressive! ❤️🏆

Our first shoot together. She was incredibly nervous, until I showed her what she looked like through my lens. She nearly fell over with surprise, seeing herself as much the beautiful creature as I do.

And then, voilà! Instant FUN, effortless movement & lots of laughter - when I'd lose my footing & fall off tree stumps or hillside cliffs from sheer, childlike excitement, totally my normal - while catching gorgeous images with her in this divine forest)!
