It has occured to me (Jake) on several occasions that I have done just about as bad of a job as one can marketing our photography business. For one, I am not a fan of social media. And for two, I am not a person that likes to share all that much about my life. These are all pathetic excuses. Over the past several years I've been lucky and Jess has done all the social media posts and communication. But, Jess is a very busy girl these days going back to school in pursuit of her masters in Interior Design, working for 2-4-1 Sports and being the clear head of a three kid house.
I told myself that come December I was going to start sharing more about what we've been up to over the past year. Well, that time has come so here we go. Please excuse my poor grammar and random thoughts.
I'm going to first highlight a wedding we photographed in the beginning of June (best month of the year IMO) at the Elizabeth Park in West Hartford, CT. This wedding was no ordinary wedding because one of the brides was a girl I coached for several years on the Watkinson School Cross Country team. Anna E. is literally the sweetest girl in the whole wide world and she was one of my favorites. Anna doesn't have a mean bone in her body and her smile/laugh is pure gold. When she contacted me to photograph her wedding I was intrigued to meet her match. Who would be the lucky one to snag Anna?! Turns out Anna found one of those rare gems, Ally. Ally is her opposite but in the best possible way. Fun-loving, adventurous and totally unique. I mean she hiked the whole Appalachian Trail so she got my stamp of approval right away.
At any rate the wedding was a blast and I never got to officially thank Anna and Ally for choosing us (or post any photos). Thanks!
On a side note, if you want a feast for your eyes plan a visit to the Rose Gardens at Elizabeth Park in West Hartford, CT around mid to late June. If you want to bump it up a notch go get some take out from Tangiers on the West Hartford/Hartford line and have a picnic. Their lamb Gyro is amazing!
