Cass is a landscape photographer, with a deep love for the great lands of the American West. Decades of hiking, backpacking, kayaking, and traveling the deserts, mountains, and seashores of the West have instilled a special sense of place, detail, texture and color to his vision. The goal of his work is to capture the subtle, the “sense”, the little things that define a place. The sweep of red sandstone against a cobalt sky in northern Arizona. A miniature forest of mushrooms, moss, and leaves in the coastal mountains. The golden glow of a fall sunset along the Salmon River. Oases of flowing springs and glistening rocks in the Grand Canyon. Recently moved to the Bitterroot Valley of southwest Montana, he has just begun exploring this new Rocky Mountains home.
