Nuestra segunda parada la montaña mas alto en Texas en Guadalupe Mountain National Park, el pico de Guadalupe llega 8,751 pies de altura con la mejor vista en todo el estado de Texas y otro gran ejemplo del poder de la naturaleza en crear lugares asi.

Our second stop was the highest mountain in Texas, located in Guadalupe Mountains National Park. Guadalupe Peak reaches an elevation of 8,751 feet, offering the best view in the entire state of Texas and serving as another magnificent example of nature’s power to create such places.

Nuestra primera parada en nuestro viaje de Spring break fue White Sands National Park en Nuevo Mexico arenas blancas de Gypsum tan suave y fria que podias caminar en ellas descalso sin quemarte aunque las temperaturas fueran casi 90 grados. Este desierto aunque parezca un lugar sin vida tiene sus huellas de lo que sucede en las noches, es un lugar que se puede apreciar que no todo lugar que parezca desierto no significa que no hay vida o belleza.

Our first stop on our Spring Break trip was White Sands National Park in New Mexico—white gypsum sands so soft and cool that you could walk on them barefoot without burning your feet, even though temperatures were nearly 90 degrees. Although this desert may appear to be a lifeless place, it bears traces of what unfolds there at night; it is a place that demonstrates that just because a location looks like a desert, it does not mean it lacks life or beauty.

Mientras que el macho se distingue por su color rojo, la hembra del cardenal norteño es de color marrón con reflejos rojizos. Los vi durante una caminata a primera hora de la mañana del viernes en el Parque Estatal Cedar Hill.

While the male is known because of its red color, the female Northern Cardinal is brown with reddish highlights. I spotted them while doing an early friday morning hiking at the Cedar Hill State Park.

I thought I saw a kitty Cat and I wasn’t wrong, it was so well camouflaged it was only a small movement that gave it away. This Bobcat was just sitting there peacefully looking at us as we walked by.

Creí ver un lindo gatito y no me equivoqué; estaba tan bien camuflado que un pequeño movimiento lo delató. Este Gato monte (Bobcat) estaba allí sentado tranquilamente, observándonos mientras pasábamos.

On our last day before returning home we decided to return to Rocky Mountain NP only this time on a beautiful sunny day to appreciate even better the fall colors on the Trail Ridge Road. It was the best last minute decision and with the hope to return again in the future, Colorado and Rocky Mountain is really a great place for a Fall Getaway and I highly recommend it.

En nuestro último día antes de regresar a casa, decidimos volver al Parque Nacional de las Montañas Rocosas, pero esta vez en un hermoso día soleado para apreciar aún mejor los colores otoñales en la carretera Trail Ridge. Fue la mejor decisión de último minuto y con la esperanza de volver en el futuro, Colorado y las Montañas Rocosas son realmente un lugar fantástico para una escapada de otoño; lo recomiendo ampliamente.
