Lisa and Mike Muchler are really great people who do a lot for the greyhound community. They’ve been devastated by hurricane Helene. They’ve lost their business tools, the lower level of their home and they suffered the unimaginable heartbreak of the loss of one of their precious dogs. I don’t know how they are coping with all of that, the emotional and mental toll can’t be imagined. Mike and Lisa spend a lot of time fundraising for the hounds, the greyhound hall of fame and adoption groups.
How can you help? There is a raffle for the elusive cuddlepillar, the very coveted greyhound toy, the toy spoke of in hushed tones, the toy of legend. The proceeds go to help Mike & Lisa, as well as help Sarah, another GCGA member who lost her home, pick up the pieces and attempt to move forward.
Your hounds will disown you if they find out you didn’t try to obtain a cuddlepillar for them. You will be subjected to bombastic scathing greyhound side eye, withering stares of judgement and intentional greyhound gas emissions in your general direction. You’ve been warned. Grab some raffle tickets, help some greyt people who have given so much to the hounds, and spare yourself the wrath of your canine overlords.

Hurricane Helene left many people with devastating damage to their homes and property. Some of our VERY dear volunteers were severely impacted by this storm.
Lisa and Mike Muchler had complete destruction to the entire lower level of their home and property. Their loss is simply heartbreaking. The Muchler’s do SO MUCH for GCGA and the entire greyhound community. They also run Vintage Greyhound Auctions and are always fundraising and helping others!
Sarah E. is another one of our incredible volunteers who always goes above and beyond for the greyhounds, including fostering greyhounds with special medical needs. Sarah’s entire home was destroyed, and very sadly she was only able to salvage a few items.
We also have a few other volunteers that are still assessing the damage to their homes and property.
We are holding raffles for the infamous giant plush cuddlepillar to raise money for these tremendous families so they can purchase things they desperately need.
Here is how the raffle(s) works:
-Each morning for the next week we will post this raffle. Anyone who donates that day (regardless of time of day) will get entered into that day's raffle.
-Any donation amount at or under $20 will get you 1 raffle ticket for that day's raffle. For every additional $20 donation you make, you will get an extra ticket. Ex: $40 = 2 tickets, $60 = 3 tickets, etc.
-You can designate if you would like your donation(s) to go to a particular volunteer(s). Otherwise, we will divide it amongst them accordingly.
-Cuddlepillars will be delivered locally and/or shipped at no cost anywhere in the United States. For overseas shipping, we will assess the cost to determine if it is feasible.
-You can enter the raffle as many days as you like! The more days you enter, the more donations we raise and the better odds you have of winning (which means you could also win more than once!)
