Despite the cold, gusty winds that coat the Grand Haven Lighthouse in thick layers of ice, the warm sunset light provides a beautiful juxtaposition of strength and serenity. The golden glow over the lighthouse highlights the raw power and beauty of a Michigan winter on Lake Michigan's shore.

As a photographer you often go to a location with a plan in mind, but that plan doesn't always work out. We planned on taking sunrise photos over an alpine lake but we couldn't see the sunrise from the lake. We explored and climbed up some rocks to come across this scene 🤩 One of the best views from our trip!

We were walking back to the car after sunrise and the trail had this nice view of a winding road with the mountains in the background. How do you not photograph this?

Sunrises are so beautiful, but getting up at 4am isn't the best. Finding this spot was difficult. We hadn't been here before and we were pretty sure where we wanted to park was locked, so we had to do a little hike to find this spot. We found a couple vantage points and waited for the sun to pop up.

The sun lit up the mountains golden yellow, just like the nearby city's name...Golden, CO.

Wow, it's been a long time since I got out my camera to do landscape photography! I feel rusty, and a little lost to be honest; mostly in the editing department and some in the posting department. Do I add a song to this? Insta says I should.

We got up early to get to Red Rocks before sunrise. I haven't been to Red Rocks before so it was pretty exciting to check out a new place. This might be my favorite picture from the sunrise pictures of the day. This was shot at 310mm while the city was glowing.
