The rain paused just long enough for us—and somehow, that made the evening feel even more meant to be.

Photographing a family once is a gift. Being invited back as their story unfolds is something entirely different. I get to notice what has changed, what has stayed beautifully the same, and all the joy that has found its way into the space between.

I love creating photographs, but even more than that, I love getting to witness the lives growing within them. What a beautiful thing it is to call this my work.

Doug & Anna’s wedding unfolded in the heart of northern Michigan, beginning at a cherished family cottage where generations before them have exchanged vows and begun their own forever.

A little northern Michigan rain only added to the romance of the day, with their beloved Harley woven into every part of the celebration. It all felt deeply personal—rooted in family history, meaningful tradition, and an unmistakable sense of home.

The festivities continued at Crystal Downs Country Club, where an elegant evening brought the most beautiful close to a day already rich with sentiment.

I had the honor of photographing their wedding—and now, this beautiful new season as they welcome their baby.

There’s something so meaningful about preserving a family as it grows: the quiet cuddles, tiny details, and candid moments that seem ordinary now but become priceless with time. Every season of childhood deserves to be remembered exactly as it felt.

Later this weekend, I’m heading into another session with a past wedding couple and their little one—and I’m feeling especially grateful that this work allows me to keep telling these stories long after the wedding day.
