I'm probably not the right photographer for you if you're looking for a highly structured and cookie-cutter experience.
While I sometimes use fun prompts to guide you, I also check in throughout the process to ensure everyone is comfortable. I trust your children to know their limits, and I'm more than willing to follow them into the waves or up a tree.
A session with me is more like a play date. I come ready to interact with your family and have your kids show me the things they love to do. The results are photos that tell the story of your everyday life. Photos you are going to want to print and show off to everyone because they bear witness to the beautiful life you're living right now.

Q: What should I do if my child doesn’t want to participate?
A: It’s totally normal! I prioritize making this time a positive experience by giving kids choices and letting them lead. Whether they need time to warm up or want to show off a favorite activity, I’ll follow their pace.
No pressure. After years of working with people, I’ve learned how to read their cues and know when to step in, or step back. I don’t guarantee photos with everyone looking at the camera, instead I guarantee photos that feel like your life.

Art should be fun. Creativity should feel light and playful. We should be able to ping ideas off each other, share what we've learned, and take inspiration from one another without feeling like there's only so much to go around.
I definitely didn’t come up with the camera, and I didn’t come up with this way of photographing families either. If you like my photos, I will gladly show you what I do and how I make them.
I distinctly remember the person who taught me how to take my camera off manual and start playing with it. She was a photographer who photographed my family when my kids were little. She sat down with me, talked me through it, and told me to just play and have fun.
So if you love the way I create photos, take it and run with it. Seriously. Keep creating. Keep making. Keep playing. And if there's anything I can do to nudge you in that direction, ask. I would love to help.
I want to push back against the scarcity mindset that tells us there isn't enough to go around. There is. There are plenty of families, plenty of stories, and plenty of room for all of us to make good work that makes us come alive.
