I traveled 2500 miles around Thailand during a 18-day cultural/historical trip early this year with four friends (my Thai-American hosting couple and their longtime college friend) and our intrepid Thai driver, making thousands of exposures of people, places, animals and more. I will be periodically posting photos from that trip, in chronological order.
First stop, the coastal town of Hua Hin, on the western shore of the Gulf of Thailand. Hua Hin is Thailand’s original beach resort for Bangkok-based nobility, with Thai royal families having summer palaces here.
All photos here made with Sony A1 II camera, and the following lens, Sony 24-105mm f4 G; Sony 24mm f1.4 GM; Tamron 50-300mm f4.5-6.3.
1)Late afternoon and low tide allow beachgoers, with hill Khao Takiab in distance, with its Temple Wat Khao Takiab, and monkeys (photos to come).
2) A Kite surfer rides the waves here.
3) a low flying passing Snowy Egret, the low angle sun causes one wing to cast a shadow on his other wing.
4)Early morning high tide and rough waters of the Gulf of Thailand cover all the beach.

Updated edit. : I added two more totality shots where you can see more solar flares. An edit out of my shots of the total solar eclipse, here in Grapevine , Texas, USA. I had to dodge the cloud cover all the time, but had a few breaks where the eclipse came through the clouds and haze. 1:40pm CDT for the totality. First the totality, then Second as the sun re- emerges though the cloud cover and you can see Solar Flares erupting from the sun's surface. Sony A1 camera, Sony 200-600mm lens, 600mm, f8, ISO 100, bracketed shutter speeds, AF, center area, on a Sirui tripod. I did use a K&F ND100000 Solar filter for the partialities, but removed it for these totality shots. Click on each individual shot to see full frames. Cheers all.

From my archives: Hall of Fame Jockey Steve Cauthen rides to victory here in a turf race at Aqueduct Raceway in Queens, New York in the year he became the first jockey to ever win $6 million USD in one year. The next year Cauthen would become the youngest jockey to win the US Triple Crown of the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness, and the Belmont Stakes. Cauthen would go on to score hundreds of top victories in both North America and Europe in his Hall of Fame career ,and is the only Jockey ever named Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year. I took a chance on a panning shot knowing I would get only one fast pass of Steve and hoped my shot wouldn't be block by other horses in the race. Steve pulled ahead down the stretch, I followed him and kept shooting as I swung the camera and its 300mm f2.8 lens as he passed by to victory. and I got my one perfect frame shooting a film Nikon 35mm camera. She is a proud new mom now: Christina Garced is a champion ballroom pairs dancer, along with her husband. This shot was made in New Jersey, USA with Canon 7D MkII, 16-35mm f2.8 lens, 22mm, ISO 200, f10, 1/160 sec. Two PCB Einstein 640WS strobes, one in a beauty dish, one in a softbox, and one Canon Speedlight with a colored gel.
