There is something so special about the in-between seasons of motherhood. 🤍

Waiting. Anticipating. Feeling those little kicks that remind you a whole new life is about to change everything.

Sweet baby girl made her presence known during this session — she gave her dad the sweetest little kick while we were photographing, and the look on both of their faces said it all. Moments like that are why I love documenting this chapter so much.

These quiet, joyful moments before baby arrives deserve to be remembered just as much as the milestones that come after.

And speaking of motherhood…

My studio just got a little refresh with a beautiful new limewash wall, and I’m so excited to start host my spring Motherhood event there very soon. The soft texture and tones are perfect for timeless, connection-focused portraits just like these.

Senior Sunday… but make it ✨just for fun✨

These weren’t part of Megan’s senior session. No shot list. No expectations. No pressure to “get the shot.”

She came into the studio simply to play — to move, to experiment, to see what would happen if we leaned into creativity instead of perfection. And honestly? That’s when the magic shows up.

Megan brought such depth to these. The strength in her lines. The softness in her expression. The confidence to bend, shift, and try something different. That kind of presence can’t be forced — it’s felt.

Sometimes the best images happen when we let go of the plan.

So yes, it’s Senior Sunday… but this is your reminder that growth doesn’t stop at the senior gallery. 🤍

Okay but can we talk about how it was actually below freezing for this session? 🥶❄️

Five minutes in, the kids are laughing, dad’s scooping everyone up, mom’s smiling at her sweet littles like this is her favorite place in the world — and suddenly it doesn’t feel cold at all.

That walk down the snowy road.
The giggles on the fence.
The way everyone instinctively leaned in closer.

This is why I’ll always say yes to winter sessions. It’s not about perfect conditions. It’s about being together — even when your boots are full of snow.

Cold hands. Warm hearts. Worth it every time. 🤍

Perla and I first crossed paths in high school orchestra, and life has continued to weave our stories together ever since — from becoming moms at the same time to watching our children grow side by side. Seeing Grant’s personality shine more with every session is such a gift. These moments — the laughter, the movement, the quiet closeness — are exactly why I love photographing families the way they are, right now.

Closing the door on 2025 with a full heart.
This year was filled with tiny beginnings, meaningful connections, and moments that reminded me how powerful photographs can be. Thank you to every family who trusted me to capture their story — it truly means more than you know.

As I look ahead to 2026, I’m feeling grateful and excited. New opportunities, fresh creativity, and so many beautiful moments still to come. I can’t wait to continue creating alongside you.

This morning looks a little different than planned.

Instead of making merry memories with my kids, I’m parked by my laptop, coffee in hand, adding as many new arrivals online as humanly possible… because Mother Nature has thrown us *yet another* snowy curveball on what’s supposed to be one of our top three Saturdays of the entire year.

So I’m queuing up a third Christmas movie playing in the background to attempt to keep the kids semi-entertained, and I’m doing my best to meet our customers where they are — which right now means convenience, flexibility and online shopping.

I won’t sugarcoat it: weather like this is hard on everyone, but it especially hurts small businesses. Days we count on don’t get rescheduled. Foot traffic doesn’t magically show up later. And it just… sucks, honestly.

If you happen to venture out to Costco, Target or any of the other “essential” stops this weekend, I’d love for you to consider adding one small business to your list too — in person or online. It truly makes a difference.

Showing up looks different today.

We’re adapting. We’re pivoting. Once again.
And yet, we’re grateful — as always — for a community that supports us through the curveballs (err, snowballs). 🤍

Full circle moments like this never get old. 🤍

Jocelyn and I grew up swimming together on swim team, so getting the chance to photograph her family all these years later felt extra special. From her and her husband with their boys, to capturing her parents and her brother and sister-in-law — this session was full of motion, laughter, and connection.

With young kids, you’re always on the move, and I love that these images hold both sides of that season: a few beautifully stylized family portraits alongside the whimsy, joy, and in-between moments that make this stage unforgettable. I hope these photographs are ones they’ll return to for years to come.

As we head into Thanksgiving, I just want to say how deeply grateful I am for every family who has invited me into their lives over the years. It means the world to watch your families grow, to celebrate your milestones, and to document all the quiet moments in between.

I’m sharing a few favorites from one my my Thanksgiving sessions last year—including some of the silly outtakes. At my suggestion, Grandpa pulled out his ci**rs and suddenly the whole crew was giving full “mob family” vibes. 😂 And yes… not a single person or pet is photoshopped into that big family shot!

It is such a joy and an honor to be the one you trust to capture your memories. Thank you, truly, from the bottom of my heart.
