Antigua was a sailors island. A yachting paradise…A place where you can feel envy of luxury, watch Atlantic races come to an end, and eat damn good jerk chicken and relax on just one of the 365 beaches.

It felt different than anywhere we had been yet. Events were happening all over the island without us knowing about them. We rented a scooter to get lost and had one of the most fun days. Getting around by scooter is the way to do it! You can wedge that thing in just about everywhere and you have no shield between you and the sights and smells. We found a drag race, a speak easy, many epic beaches, and rock formations and ended the day with the iconic and highly overrated Shirley heights BBQ. I swear that BBQ hasn’t changed for 15 years. (Maybe more people now?) We also headed up North to Barbuda so I could see the frigate bird colony. I (megan) have a “thing” for birds, lol. Barbuda was the perfect kind of sleepy. We walked a couple of miles with wild donkeys to get fuel for dingy (it was on fumes). Hope you enjoy these images! I will have to post a couple more times to share all of my favorites from this wonderful place. ⛵️💎

Saint Martin felt like a we had found a Caribbean Time Machine and gone back in time. All of my images were shot on digital, but FEEL like film. A place that, despite all of its hustle and bustle, feels like it hasn’t changed much since the 1980s. Same iconic airport flooded with tourists, same old pier kids jump off of all day long (even in the rain). Of course you can immerse yourself into the cruise ship and shopping chaos if you wish, but for us, we wandered less inhabited paths (as always). I think being a cruiser is special because of that. We get this other view. We get to slow down and observe. Anyways, enjoy my “film inspired” take on Saint Martin. Being greeted by dolphins is an enjoyable way to fall in love with a place. (Also, GOODBYE WONDERFUL FRENCH FOOD…we will miss you. All our love from the USVIs)

To be inspired by groups of people so heavily, that it moves you to tears, is life changing. I don’t know if James and I will actually move forward with completing a in our future, but we are having conversation about it. Seeing row into the in Antigua for the last time, was very try moving. We wanted to capture some of that to inspire not only ourselves, but others. You are capable of hard things. Humans are adaptable and stronger than we act at times. In case you didn’t know such badass-ery existed, now hopefully you do. Could you row the Altlantic Ocean without touching land for almost 2 months?
Enjoy our video (last post) and photos :)

Okay... we've been HORRIBLE about making videos and updating about our journey, yet we shoot nearly every single day. I have literally weeks of editing ahead of me just to get caught up. With that said, we were beyond lucky to be leaving Jolly Harbor in Antigua while a Trans-Atlantic rowing boat with two British Royal Marines (in drag???) rowing it, after completing the . Megan had recently started following these boats, but we had no idea that they were coming into Antigua, much less the day that we were there! After a short bit of research we found out that another team, SharkBait, was due to come in the next day, so we put on our hats and followed them in. They had an amazing turnout after completing the Atlantic Dash in about 2 months at sea. That's TWO months without touching land!!!! Even for us, thats a lot!

So naturally... we're gonna offer to buy their boat (or one similar) and give it a try ourselves. Better not skip arm day any time soon.

Congrats team Shark Bait!

It’s been more than 3 months since we first left Trinidad (dang I have a lot of catching up to do on here!) and we’ve completed over 500 nautical miles at sea so far. Today is looking like a beautiful weather window so we are heading up Antigua and Barbuda 🇦🇬 to make some northern progress and see the beautiful reefs. Hopefully the weather keeps being this beautiful.

A little reintroduction to the RolinWild instagram page…Bonjour! Hola! Alo! Wherever you are in the Caribbean, Hello, from James and Megan Rolin. We are currently 500 miles into our Caribbean tour from Trinidad to Florida onboard our sailing yacht, RolinWild. Even more specifically, we are in Dominica, which has been incredible! While there are cruise ships, most of the island feels a bit untouched and wild. (Which we love)
The reefs are in excellent shape and the island is critters galore. Even the human type of critters have been very friendly! ⛵️❤️ A bit about us… We are in our very late 30’s and have decided to tackle a different pace of life. We have 5 children together and 3 dogs, and will be renting out our land home, trading in our days on the sea instead. We get asked a lot about a time frame on this life, and usually laugh, exclaiming “when the funds run out.” Which is sort of true, and sort of not. We are planning for as long as our health lets us, getting jobs as scuba instructors if we need and want to. Anyways, more on that later! Au revior!

Tomorrow we leave Martinque after being anchroed here for 16 days. By far our longest time in one country (unless we are counting Trinidad for boat repairs.) This “little France” has delighted us. People have gone out of their way to help us, even when a language barrier has made it difficult. It’s a place where you feel the community is proud and joyful to be here, and although many are camera shy, ive enjoyed observing everyday life through my lense. They have the best parts of the Caribbean, while also having the support and food of France. If it weren’t for our “deadlines,” we could spend a lot longer here. Until next time, Martinque...

Vaughn Man Sentenced in Federal Court for Wildlife Crimes, Including Sheep Cloning
A Vaughn, Montana man, Arthur Schubarth, was sentenced in federal court this week for two felony wildlife crimes, including an illegal sheep cloning scheme. Schubarth was convicted of conspiracy to violate the Lacey Act, a law designed to protect wildlife, and of violating the Act itself. His case has drawn attention due to the nature of the offenses and the potential impact on Montana’s wildlife.
"This Was About Greed," Says U.S. Attorney
U.S. Attorney Jesse Laslovich described Schubarth's actions as being driven by greed. Schubarth and his co-conspirators engineered a scheme to clone the world’s largest sheep right here in Montana, aiming to profit from the sale of genetic material and live animals to captive hunting facilities.
"Fundamentally, this was about greed," said Laslovich. "Mr. Schubarth and his co-conspirators created this scheme to make more money, hoping to raise the largest sheep in the world."
Fines, Restitution, and Prison Time
Schubarth was ordered to pay over $24,000 in fines and restitution as part of his sentencing. In addition to the monetary penalties, Schubarth will serve six months in federal prison. Although he faced up to 10 years in prison, the court considered his age—he is 81 years old—when determining his sentence.
Laslovich explained, "He was sentenced to six months in federal prison. He was facing up to 10 years, but the court took his age into account."
A Complex Operation Involving Cloning
According to federal filings, Schubarth's operation involved the purchase, sale, and breeding of mountain sheep and goats, with a particular focus on cloning. Schubarth created what he called "Montana Mountain King," a cloned sheep, by implanting an embryo into one of his ewes on his ranch. The goal of this cloning operation was to market and sell the resulting animals to captive hunting facilities, violating multiple wildlife protection laws in the process.

I haven’t posted anything for a bit although I’ve been super busy and have a ton of adventures and content to share here. This photo couldn’t go unseen though.

The is one of the top 5 in the Pacific NW. At 27,000 square feet it is simply huge for a concrete and the people who use the park all summer are a dedicated crowd. I was there to shoot a story and the scooter kids put on quite a show for me. This particular shot was later in my time there and worked out better than planned.
