Heikkila Photography Hi, I'm Allison and I’m here for those willing to take a chance and explore the world around them! Weird timing right?! Not at all really.

Montana has such a beauty that I'm so happy to call it my home. I love to try and find the curiosities and beauty of this city and state. Whether that be a simple fishing access or a broken down building that has a lot of character that helps portray a client's personality and style, I'm all about that and I'm also up for any adventures that people have to offer! I am self taught in different area

s and with most education being high school. Besides that, it's youtube, photography magazines, mentors and whatever else I can get my hands on that I learn from. I really enjoy learning by experimentation and hands on experience when it comes to capturing the beauty of the image. A little about me apart from the photography aspect is I love the mountains, adventures, traveling and anything that requires me to use my artistic side. I've lived in Montana my whole life, went to public school for most of it and was even homeschooled for a year my junior year. It was a great timing on my end but went back to public school to finish off my senior year with all of my fellow peers. I do want to eventually move my career into being a music photographer. "What exactly does that mean?" some of you would say. Well, to clear that up, it means that I would want to build my profession off of capturing incredible moments under an artist's spotlight and lifestyle. Every moment is a different image to capture and every venue is a different experience. Everything's changing in the music world and being able to capture that would be a remarkable career to have. One goal of mine, at the moment, is to travel with a band and capture their time on tour, travel and be able to enjoy the adventure in life. I’m all about chasing the sun. I’m assisting about running from it too lately. What do I mean?
It’s the difference between sunset lighting verses sunrise. Sunset, you try to chase every last possible minute of the sun. Sunrise is similar but sometimes, you run trying to find the evenly lit areas tucked away by the shade of a mountain or the shadow of a tree. Both are beautiful. Both are worth it but in this season, I’m in love with sunrise ♥️☀️🏔️

2027 Seniors! It’s about that time to start looking into getting your Senior photos done! Here’s some tips when prepping for your photos!
1- Make a Statement- this is your time to make your senior photos all about you! Choose outfits you’re comfortable in. If you’re uncomfortable, it can show up in your expressions.
2- Make it Fun- if you want to go dance in the wildflowers or go fly fishing on the Mo, let’s do it! Don’t let these just become another set of photos but rather, let’s make them a fun memory where you got to incorporate something you love!
3- Release the doggies! Well, don’t really. We want them to stay close by😂 But really, bring your pets! Ride a horse, go crazy! I love animals and will work with them if you want to as well!
4- If you have a specific vision in mind and place to make it happen then let’s go! If not and you’re just along for the ride, no worries! I have a list of locations to choose from that are adventurous and fun!

Why I advocate for minis
1- quick 15-30 minute sessions that allow you to get updated photos
2- you get to look back on a memory captured in one moment. That memory can look different to everyone- a season in life, a certain age of your little one and what they’re like in that time and even just getting to have fun while someone captures those moments for you.
3- You allow someone to see and focus on the things you may miss. I love getting to focus on tiny details that often times get overlooked and that I get the opportunity to freeze that moment in time.
There are probably a hundred other reasons for why minis are an amazing opportunity to be a part of but I know for me, I want to be someone to my couples, families and seniors that they know the can trust and depend on for the big and little moments in their lives. ♥️

I LOVE the annual Swanson family photo. Not only are they a fun crew but they always come with a unique vision to try out. This year was about capturing the blur of movement, last year was in the middle of the snowy mountains, 2 years before, I believe was in their house showing the process of remodeling their home (there was basically an adult jungle gym to climb on for the photo). The year before that, we grabbed a couch, took it to the prettiest spot a few blocks away and placed it in the middle of the street right before some of the kids went to prom.
I desire creativity for every session and if you’re for it, I’ll always attempt to make it happen!

When I look back at 2025, I remember specifically Caroline and Keagan.
They already had their engagement photos taken but decided to trust Heather with .filmss and my vision for the morning in another round of photos and I’m so glad they did.
It not only allows you- as the client- and me- as your photographer- to get to know a little about each other before your big day, it also gives you a sneak peak at what you can expect on your wedding day.
I love that with their engagement session, we were able to involve their horses and tell more of their story outside of their wedding.
If you’re ever questioning if you should do the engagement shoot, the answer is always “yes”.
