I’ve seen a lot of conversations happening in the photography community lately about AI, children’s photos, and sharing our work online. I’ve taken some time to really think about it, and I wanted to be honest about where I stand. ❤️
I will not be removing every identifiable photo of a child from my photography page.
I completely understand and respect why some photographers and parents are choosing to do that. The capabilities of AI can be incredibly unsettling, and unfortunately, there will always be people who misuse technology and images in ways they were never intended to be used.
At the same time, sharing my work is a huge part of how I run my business. Families find me because they’re able to see real sessions, real connections, real personalities, and the kind of memories I work so hard to capture. My portfolio is quite literally how I show potential clients what I do.
However, what will always matter more than my content is your consent.
If you do not want images of your child shared on my website or social media, please tell me. You never need to explain your reasoning, and there will be absolutely no pressure or hurt feelings. I will always respect your decision. I always ask for permission regardless.
If you’re comfortable with me sharing certain images but would prefer faceless photos, detail shots, or images where your child isn’t easily identifiable, I’m more than happy to honor that as well.
I will continue being mindful and intentional about what I share, but I also believe this decision should remain with each individual family. Every parent has a different comfort level, and I will never assume what yours is.
Your children’s safety and your trust in me will always come before a social media post. ❤️
