Nothing in life is certain except for the ability to change your path if you aren’t thrilled about the one you’re on.
I don’t often reflect enough how far AAP has come in seven years…SEVEN.YEARS. (I have yet to let that one sink in.)
It feels fitting on Labor Day to reflect on it all.
It’s hard to believe I’ve been in this space serving the best people…making them laugh & smile while preserving some of their best memories for this many years already.
I’m not sure how much I believe in fate but I do feel certain that somehow I was meant to be right here where I am.
Cheers to capturing more of your stories in all of the years yet to come 🥂

(Ok…two more certainties…I’ll definitely need to keep visiting the weight room because that gear load on wedding days is no joke and no…I’m not ready for pumpkin spiced latte season yet 😆 💪🏼.)

A beauful family like this one!
Yep…still over here photographing alllll the things!
We spent the evening documenting new and authentic memories on their property.
I’ve grown quite fond of at-home sessions over the many seasons I’ve been photographing my families.

Remember when I said I was taking on a handful of high school seniors this year?
Braden killed his session in early August.
I always ask if there are any things they would like to include in their sessions that really speak to them. I also like to hear about their personalities before we meet; this helps me to curate a session that fits them and also to help them feel comfortable in front of the camera.
Grateful that I decided to meet a few seniors this season. You’ll see a few opportunities pop up for 2028 seniors so keep your eyes peeled!

(You may notice that the colors of the images with the truck included look a little bit different than the others; this is purposeful and to reflect a feeling not otherwise given with a standard edit. I often do things creatively during these sessions while also delivering standard portraits.)

So you want your wedding to feel more like a documentary vs. having to follow a strict schedule….
We can certainly do that.
I’ll never take for granted when a couple chooses me to document their day; especially when they trust me enough to travel almost 800mi to do so.
Kaitlyn and David have big hearts and kind souls.
It’s folks like them that make me glad I picked up a camera.

“She’s travelling againnnnn?!” 👀👀👀
Listen…when my people ask if I’ll head to a new destination to photograph their love stories..I pack my bags and burn rubber! (Or jet fuel 😆.)
I brought my best partner in crime with me to adventure while I’ll be here in the area photographing a very special and down-to-earth couple’s vows in the Smoky Mountains!
We drove the 12ish hours today…I’m currently sipping a crispy cold New Glarus Staghorn I smuggled across borders 🫡.
Next year I’ll be in FL and KY with my people; who knows where you’ll find me next!

I can’t speak for others on this but when a couple comes to me with a vision for their day, with an overall desire of how they’d like their story captured…I do just that.

One of the biggest compliments that can be given to a photographer is having someone choose you to document their wedding day because they loved your previous work. Tho there are always other important factors like overall cost..getting chosen because of our art and the way we see and document people is so very meaningful to us.

If you tell me you don’t want your day to feel like you’re taking photos for hours, I got you! If you tell me you’d prefer to just enjoy the space and be surrounded by your people, I got you.

Whatever it is you want your day to feel like, let’s make it be just that!

Say no more!
Instantly I knew we’d capture all the things perfectly together!
We swatted bugs and sweat it out in 96 degrees but man…one of the most beauful sessions ever!

So so grateful when people come to me because they’ve seen my work and have confidence that I’ll be able to capture their story as they imagine it!
