Confidence is what the beauty industry sells. Be confident. Feel confident. Find your confidence. And listen, confidence is great, but I think we’ve made the mistake of convincing people they need to find it BEFORE they’re allowed to step in front of the camera. Lose the weight first. Get in shape first. Feel better about yourself first. Then you’ll be ready. Except that’s completely backwards. You don’t need to walk into my studio confident. You need to feel safe enough to be a human. To be nervous. To laugh when something feels fu***ng ridiculous. To let your stomach exist. To stop thinking about what your face is doing and whether you’re doing any of this “right.” Because you can be the most confident person in the room and still be performing. Safety is what lets you finally put that s**t down. And when you do, THAT’S when I get to see you. That’s the person I want to photograph. So no, confidence isn’t your homework before you get here. Creating a space where you feel safe enough to stop performing and let yourself be seen? That’s mine.
