⚓🛥️ A SHORT & SWEET CRUISE SOUTH ON LAKE MICHIGAN! 🍂

After some of the adventures Lake Michigan has handed us lately, we certainly appreciated a nice, relatively short and uneventful cruise today aboard M/V Galian! 😎🤙
We cast off from Eldean Shipyard at 11:04 AM and pointed Galian’s bow south once again, continuing our FALLING SOUTH portion of the Great American Loop.
Our cruise carried us 27.69 statute miles down the eastern shoreline of Lake Michigan before we entered the harbor at South Haven and secured at the South Haven Yacht Club at 2:35 PM.

⏱️ Underway: approximately 3½ hours
⚓ Average speed: 8.7 MPH
Once safely inside, we took on diesel at $6.39 per gallon and then secured Galian for the evening.
🍂 OUR FALL SOUTH ADVENTURE SO FAR:
Today marked Day 11 of Falling South down Lake Michigan.
🛥️ 8 cruising days
⚓ 3 rest/weather days
And when we pull the camera back even farther, the numbers really begin to tell the story of this adventure.
🇺🇸 We are now on Day 159 of our 2026 Great American Loop travels since departing Jacksonville, Florida.
🛥️ Since leaving Jacksonville, M/V Galian has traveled 2,737.61 statute miles!
⚓ And altogether, Skipper Jack & Migal have now spent 402 days Looping aboard M/V Galian since beginning this Great American Loop adventure!
The Nebo map included with this post provides a pretty neat look at this latest chapter — from the Straits of Mackinac, down the eastern shoreline of Lake Michigan, and now all the way to South Haven.
Each of those miles represents another little piece of this incredible adventure.
Some days Lake Michigan has given us beautiful cruising conditions. Other days she has reminded us very clearly who is in charge! 🌊😂
But mile by mile and harbor by harbor, M/V Galian continues FALLING SOUTH. 🍂⬇️
Tonight we are safely secured at the South Haven Yacht Club, thankful once again to the good Lord for another safe day underway and another new harbor added to our Great American Loop memories. 🙏❤️
