I grew up with a passion for art and photography, which was shared by my Mother and sisters. My Mother never left home without her Canon 35mm and gave me my first 110 camera when I was in Elementary school. I have enjoyed taking photographs of the people that are important in my life for so long, but it wasn't until my family started to suggest that my photography could blossom into a career that I realized I had to opportunity to really love what I do. I lean towards Documentary style Photography, which is a mixture of posed and photojournalism style. I feel that there is nothing more beautiful than the natural interaction of a family. I also love capturing this interaction in their natural setting, places that they feel at home.

Within minutes of being behind my camera to photograph Greeneville Theatre Guild’s production of THE GUYS, I was in tears.

I was only able to preview a few scenes. (I was running back to another theatre for another rehearsal.) But it was enough.

Enough to see the vulnerability these two actors bring to the stage. Enough to feel the weight of the story they have been entrusted to tell. Enough to know that this is a production our community needs to see.

The show opens at the Capitol Theatre September 11, on the 25th anniversary of a day that changed our country forever.

For so many of us, we remember exactly where we were on September 11, 2001. But there is an entire generation growing up now who only knows 9/11 as something they have read about in a history book.

Bring them.

Bring your teenagers. Talk to them about that day. Help them understand the lives that were lost, the heroes who ran toward danger, the families who never got to say goodbye, and the way our country was forever changed.

Come see this show. Come remember. Come honor the people we lost.

And come support two actors who have taken on the incredibly heavy responsibility of telling a small piece of this story with honesty, vulnerability and heart.
