I grew up with a passion for art and photography, which was shared by my Mother and sisters. My Mother never left home without her Canon 35mm and gave me my first 110 camera when I was in Elementary school. I have enjoyed taking photographs of the people that are important in my life for so long, but it wasn't until my family started to suggest that my photography could blossom into a career that

I realized I had to opportunity to really love what I do. I lean towards Documentary style Photography, which is a mixture of posed and photojournalism style. I feel that there is nothing more beautiful than the natural interaction of a family. I also love capturing this interaction in their natural setting, places that they feel at home.

Documenting Encore Theatricals Junior Theatre Festival team from rehearsals to thier adjudication was such a new and incredible experience as a photographer. The show is set with no sets, no costumes and the rehearsal and performance spaces were complicated to photograph in… but it might be one of the most rewarding documentary photography experiences I have had! Here are just a handful of highlights from thousands of photographs taken.

Thrilled to finally share this photo from last night’s rehearsal of Central Ballet’s Exodus. I always try to wait until the production team shares images or opening night arrives before posting my own, so I was especially excited when they shared this one today.

This may be one of my favorite photos I’ve ever captured during a live theatre performance. Exodus is filled with powerful moments that unfold quietly in the shadows, and those moments left a deep impact on my heart.

I was thrilled to be invited to photograph my second photo assignment of the year, Central Ballet Theatre’s Exodus: The Story of God’s Deliverance.

This one felt especially full circle. Central Ballet Theatre is where I first fell in love with photographing and documenting live theatre. My girls spent nearly a decade dancing there under the incredible direction of Lori Ann Sparks, and stepping back into that space to capture today’s dress rehearsal felt like coming home. Being trusted to document a story that blends faith, movement, and artistry was truly an honor.

Supporting local arts matters. Our community theatres, dance companies, and musicians tell powerful stories, shape young artists, and bring people together in ways nothing else can. When we show up, buy tickets, and share their work, we help ensure these creative spaces continue to thrive for the next generation.

Here are just a few behind the scenes moments from today! I’ll save the rest for after opening night! But trust me, you don’t want to miss this show!
