BentallGreenOak is a real estate investment firm, considered one of North America's largest, with professionals across North America, Europe, and Asia. This is the second time they've had us to their Park Ave. office in Manhattan, and they really pulled out all the stops to make it easy with their professionalism, preparation, and communication. Gemma and I reached into the bag of tricks to allow staff to pre-register for their portrait time slots, then INSTANTLY deliver each participant an online gallery plopped into their email before they made it back to their desks from their sitting. Their favorites were lightly retouched (hair and makeup services were also available on-site) and the entire package delivered within a week. Be sure to consider us for large head shot projects like these!

WSHU is an NPR member radio station licensed to Westport, Connecticut, and too has a ton of listeners here on Long Island. I was thrilled that they reached out for a freelance photographer; the assignment is to visit about 15 LI theater companies and photograph the theater itself, any cast and crew available, basically capturing the vibe of the place. WSHU will interview and air the theater teams' story, and my images will supplement the social media posts to follow. I'm only four theaters in, and loving it - everyone's been terrific! And with that said, check out Jagged Little Pill at the Smithtown theater, or Godspell or Oz in Port Jeff at Theater 3!

The holiday season is over, which means back to work - and what a variety it's been, lately! Long Island Business News has sent me out to cover events and create some editorial portraits for D&B Engineers; Nelson & Pope sent me some of their finest for their new team announcement; Cerini & Associates have some new hires with their excellent accounting firm; Schroder-Strom is a new client with a fine lineup of attorneys; Proactive Medical Products continues to expand their catalog of devices; Certilman Balin hired Jacqui onto their legal team, and more! Hoping this week isn't as cold, gentle readers!

It's been busy and fun! The Commodore of the Huntington Yacht Club came in for his formal wall portrait, posed against a hand-painted canvas; Ashley loaded up on fun lifestyle and studio work for her new website and Instagram; we went back to Walden & Associates in Oyster Bay to capture them at work, as well as spend some time with the gang at Ferrari & Aldieri Dental in Farmingdale, made some fun head shots with Sammy, and were thrilled to find that Chef Daria, whose portraits we made last summer, has opened the doors of her latest restaurant, Mighty Fine, right here in Huntington on Green Street!

It was great to hear from Beth Stern! It's been a minute since we photographed her for her book cover on Oh My Dog, but she thought of us again when collaborating with Jill Martin on a new line of lounge jackets and Sherpa hoodies and accessories, using the sales to further help their efforts with animals - 20% of net profits on every purchase will go towards Beth's Furry Friends, and 100% of every dollar donated will go towards saving animals in need. Beth hasn't changed a bit, she was great - and made it easy on Gemma and me on a rainy day in NYC. Jill and her team brought excitement and awesome vibes to the set too; it was a pleasure to work with them all. Last month we spent two full days rolling cameras and lighting around the beautiful property at Jefferson's Ferry Continuing Care Retirement Community in South Setauket, our third year contributing to their ongoing marketing materials. Each participant was as excited to be a part of the process as we were, as-always! Thanks to the staff for making our sets colorful with great food and props - the planning was exceptional. Each of these images was lit with a strobe light (or two), except for one - letting us control the look indoors, or out.

These three models were all a pleasure to work with, complete with the hair and makeup teams we assembled for the shoots. But there's more refining to be done post-shoot: color corrections, skin blending, wrinkle removal with their clothes when appropriate, cleaning up the background when there's little tears or footprints from shoes. We're on a constant learning curve with how to perform those edits, here, applying the skill set to head shots, corporate work, and product photography. Here's the results from the latest completed coursework!

Here's an event roundup! We had a perfect night at Oheka Castle covering The 29th annual Long Island Insurance Community Gala, and an equally perfect outdoor event for Long Island Business News at Crest Hollow Country Club - this is that sweet spot with the weather where almost everything evening/outside is lovely. In addition I'll post about a shoot we performed for a local video production company making VERY funny company training videos, using actors, for Broadcom who design, develop, manufacture a wide range of semiconductor and infrastructure software products. We made some quick portraits of all the actors in-character, too, to be used in training-themed graphics around the company.

Time for another head shot roundup! Lisa popped in for a photographic kick-off to her realty career, she's gonna be great. Liz and Tom are launching their investment startup, so if you're looking to get in on some amazing real estate deals let me know and I'll put you through to them... Jamie just started at Cerini & Associates as an accountant, Milton is applying to medical school after finishing up at NYU Langone, and finally Chris is polishing up his look for his investment research business. Next week I'll try to post some of the recent events and more...
