Happy Valentine’s Day!

Every wedding I film starts long before the aisle.
It starts with small moments, first dates, hard seasons, late-night talks, and choosing each other over and over again.

Today is a reminder that love isn’t just a wedding day.
It’s every day.

Grateful to capture stories built on real love.

There’s something different about hearing it from someone who’s known you your whole life. Paige’s godmother welcomed James into the family and spoke about the woman Paige’s grown into, kind, compassionate, and full of love.

Heather’s vows to Joshua were rooted in faith, prayer, and a love she believed in long before this day. From growing up together to standing here as husband and wife, her words reflected trust in God and commitment to a life built together.

Wedding planning tip: Helpful tips to write your wedding vows (without stressing yourself out) 💍✍️

If you’re engaged and wondering how to write wedding vows, you’re not alone. Most couples don’t struggle with what they feel — they struggle with how to put it into words.

Here’s a simple way to write vows that sound like you and still hit emotionally.

1) Start with one sentence that says what they mean to you

Examples:

“You make life feel safe.”

“You bring out the best in me.”

“You’re my favorite person to come home to.”

2) Share 1–2 specific memories (not your whole relationship story)

Pick moments that show who they are and why you chose them.
First date, a hard season, a small everyday moment, a time they showed up for you.

3) Make 3–5 clear promises you can actually keep

This is where vows land. Keep them real.

“I promise to choose you when life is hard.”

“I promise to listen before I react.”

“I promise to fight for us, not against you.”

“I promise to protect our peace and support your dreams.”

4) Add one line that sounds like YOU (this is what guests remember)

A shared inside joke, a simple truth, something light.
That one line is what makes your vows personal instead of generic.

5) Keep the length tight

A great vow is usually 60–90 seconds.
Long enough to feel meaningful, short enough to stay confident when emotions hit.

6) Practice it out loud

If it feels awkward to say, rewrite it. Your vows should sound natural when spoken.

7) Print them (and bring a backup)

Notes app works… until it doesn’t. Print them and keep a copy somewhere safe.

If you’re looking for wedding vow examples or you’re stuck on how to start, use this structure and you’ll be 90% done.

Andrea thought it would be just one date. Almost eight years later, it turned into a lifetime. Her vows to Ross were about love that protects in the valleys and celebrates on the mountaintops.

Wedding planning tip every engaged couple should know: When to send your Save the Dates & wedding invitations 💌

One of the most common questions I hear as a wedding vendor is:
“When should we send our Save the Dates?”
“When do wedding invitations go out?”

Here’s a simple breakdown based on your wedding month 👇

Save the Dates should be sent 6–8 months before your wedding (or earlier for destination weddings).
This gives guests time to request PTO, book travel, and plan ahead.

Your formal wedding invitations should be sent 8–12 weeks before your wedding date.
This is when guests officially RSVP and finalize plans.

Your RSVP deadline should usually be 3–4 weeks before your wedding, so you can finalize your headcount with your venue, caterer, and rental companies.

Why this matters more than you think:

If you send invitations too early → people forget to respond.
If you send them too late → guests can’t make arrangements.
If your RSVP deadline is too close to your wedding → you’ll be tracking people down instead of enjoying being engaged.

This timeline keeps your planning stress low and your guest list accurate.

Share it with your fiancĂŠ.
Send it to a newly engaged friend.

‘I don’t like the word perfect… perfect is boring.’ Jess & David’s wedding at South Wind Ranch wasn’t about perfect — it was right. The kind of right you feel, not something you have to prove.

Miranda’s vows started with a line that made everyone laugh… and then she told the part that mattered most. How Chris showed up for her just 22 days in, during one of the hardest moments of her life, and never made it feel like a burden. Real words. Real commitment.

Paige didn’t waver on what she wanted. She stayed grounded, patient, and waited for something real. And when she FaceTimed James the first time, she texted: ‘I just met my future husband.’ This speech at Diakonia Retreat Center said it best: the right love isn’t loud… it’s steady.
