Every Thursday, Friday & Saturday after dark, the doors of Captain’s Castle will open for an immersive Halloween experience filled with strange traditions, dark encounters, frights, fortunes… and a few things we’d rather not explain.

$20 single | $30 for two | Walk-ins welcome

The same stone that built the Texas Capitol built this. 🏛️

In Llano, Texas, they didn't just build a courthouse. They quarried the Hill Country itself and stacked it into something that was meant to last forever. The Llano County Courthouse is made from the same rose-pink granite that rises out of the Llano Uplift, the ancient bedrock of Central Texas, the same stone that workers hauled to Austin to build the dome that stands taller than the nation's. When Llano got its courthouse, they built it the same way they built everything else in that country: out of what the land gave them, and with the intention that it would still be standing long after the people who built it were gone.

It still is. 🌟

That pink granite catches the afternoon light in a way that makes the building look like it's glowing from the inside. If you've ever stood on the courthouse square in Llano on a clear Texas afternoon, you know exactly what that looks like. If you haven't, put it on your list.

History Haunts & Legends is this Saturday night, April 11, and Captain’s Castle is once again one of the official investigation locations.

This weekend’s investigation at the Castle will include Gina Lynelle Schaefer with Jefferson Paranormal Journeys, and we’re always excited to see what’s discovered when experienced investigators spend time inside the house.

The house has been especially active lately, and we’re keeping our fingers crossed it decides to show off while investigators are here.

With nearly 200 years of history inside these walls, this is one of the few places in Jefferson where you can actually spend the night inside a tour location.

Most people experience History Haunts & Legends by visiting the investigation sites.

Our guests sleep inside one.

And after the tours end, Parlour No. 403 will be open until 2 AM, just steps behind the house, a perfect place to unwind and compare stories from the night.

We still have a couple rooms available if you’ve ever wanted to experience a weekend like this from inside the Castle.
