MDP senior moms really said it best. I never take for granted the trust it takes to let me walk through such an important year with your family. From making things feel doable, to customizing every session, to helping seniors feel completely themselves. It means everything to me!

Ok, Moms here are 3 things I learned as a mom of a graduating senior.

1️⃣ Time really does fly.
I know everyone says it, and honestly, I rolled my eyes a little when people told me. But one minute we’re taking her senior portraits and yearbook photo in the summer, and the next minute we’re taking cap and gown pictures and planning graduation. Senior year moves FAST.

2️⃣ Start a graduation budget early.
There are so many expenses that pop up throughout the year. College deposits, prom, homecoming, senior pictures, yearbooks, graduation announcements, senior fees, graduation parties...the list keeps growing. If I could do it over again, I would set aside a little money each month starting before senior year even begins.

3️⃣ Don’t wait until the last minute to plan graduation celebrations.
And if decorating is not your gift, hire help if you can. 😂 I learned very quickly that DIY graduation party decorating is definitely not my ministry. Planning ahead will save you stress, money, and a lot of late night trips to the craft store.

To all the moms just beginning this season, soak it all in. The days feel long sometimes, but senior year is over before you know it. ❤️

One thing my Senior Chapter moms never have to worry about….

Jumping on social media in the fall or spring and posting “Does anyone know a good family photographer?”

Because while senior year is all about celebrating your child, it’s also one of the last seasons before everything changes.

Right now is one of the best times to update those family portraits while everyone is still under the same roof.

That’s why one of the perks of the Senior Chapter is flexibility. You can choose to use one of your included sessions for family portraits or add a family mini session to your senior experience.

If you’ve been saying, “We really need an updated family picture,” consider this your sign.

Ok, Class of 2027, this is how it goes…

One minute you are finishing junior year and the next you are talking about senior photos.

The truth is, senior year has a way of sneaking up on you. That’s why summer is one of my favorite times to start planning. We get to dream up locations, outfits, ideas, and create a session that actually feels like you before the craziness of senior year kicks in.

One last Senior Sunday for the Class of 2026🎓

I saved this one for the guy who stuck it out with his mom and me all year long. I think I’ve known Stellan since he was in 8th grade getting ready to play football for my husband, so it was a pretty special moment when his mom reached out and trusted me to capture his senior year.

Thank you for letting me be a small part of such a big season of life. Congrats Stellan. Wishing you all the best in the next chapter🖤💛

So, that’s exactly what we created. One of my favorite parts of The Senior Chapter is getting to learn what’s important to each senior and their family, then building sessions around those memories and moments.
