There’s just something extra meaningful about photographing a family in a place that already holds so many memories.

This sweet sunset session at Kayla’s family horse farm was full of toddler giggles, wide open pasture views, and the most beautiful golden light. Their twin girls and big brother made the entire evening feel so playful and genuine, and I’m so excited to finally share a glimpse from their session.

It's a big week over here at Bloom! If you're due date is in spring of 2025, now is the time to reach out.

Let's talk FAQs

Q: how can I reserve a date when I don't know when baby is coming?

A: We book you on your due date, and you just let me know when you've delivered your sweet bundle, then we will book the actual date :) Sometimes that's a few days after delivery, sometimes it's a month. I try and keep my schedule open to allow for whatever you're comfortable with

Q: Do you do posed session? Like wraps and such?

A: I do very light wrapping but I focus on lifestyle newborn sessions. That means you, with your newborn and family, interacting with and loving on each other. I love photographing families like this, it truly captures your unique story. I will also do individual "poses" with your newborn to show off their personality

Q: My house is a wreck. That's not a question but... what do I do!?

A: Great question! Do NOT worry about your whole house. I only photograph in 2-3 spaces and often will position myself in a way to hide the clutter (or we can move a few things out of the way) NONE of my clients homes are perfectly clean. I mean you just had a newborn for goodness sakes. I go through the process and discuss shooting locations before delivery, so there are no surprises for you. (My kitchen is a mess too BTW!)

You may not know this about me (but if you've been around long enough you might have noticed) that I barely, if ever, post my children online. In fact, I have purposely kept photos of them off social media their whole lives.

Now, let me say here that I do not judge other parents for posting their kiddos. Every parent has their own comfort level. I have noticed though as a photographer that the issues of posting clients online has grown. This conversation has led to a major pause in posting on this platform for me. And has made me deep dive into how I want to move forward with instagram since it's not really a way clients find me (SEO is king people!)

One thing I wanted to do was open up the conversation. How do you, my friends and clients, feel about posting your kids online? Photographers, is instagram an integral part of your workflow?

Photographed this sweet 3 month old and am so excited to share from this session. It's a good reminder that you don't have to have newborn photos the exact week they are born. Life can be busy and those sweet newborns are still your little newborn even at 1,2 or 3 months old ❤️

Ah siblings, one minute they are sweetly sharing a book, the next minute you think a world war has begun in your home.

Even with the sibling quarrels, I don't think there is anything better in this world than the love that they share.
