Killdeer in the Field- A lone Killdeer flying over an open field.

On a separate note- Merlin picked up a Green Heron near my house, which I thought was wierd. There is no water nearby except small residential ditches in a neighborhood. It was also at night, could it have been something else? 09/06/2026

Eagle Scout in Training- A Red Tail Hawk sitting on a power line. 08/17/2026

On a seperate note, looking for advice. I have a Nikon p100 in need of repairs. When trying to get it repaired a couple years ago, Nikon did not want to work on it. Long story, but it has been sent back off again after speaking with current manager at a local camera shop. The conversation was a bit different this time, but I am wanting input on how to proceed if I have to go through a 3rd party repair. Any recommendations? I would prefer to fix as opposed to buying a whole new camera and also recommendations on a heavier duty tripod that can support a larger camera like the p1000. What should I look for? My current tripods only work with my lighter cameras, and no matter how much I tighten, it stilll flops down when lens is fully extended.

Light and Dark- An Anhinga and his buddy a Great Egret. A few single lady Mallards swimming by behind them. It was tough getting both of them in good focus. Focusing on the lighting for the egret, darkens out the Anhinga, but brightening for the Anhinga also blinds out the Egret. 08/15/2026
