Yesterday, I hosted a networking & education event for women in business at my studio, and it was not by any means perfect, but it was completely WONDERFUL! I loved having everyone there & the goodwill between everyone was so high.

So MANY times, I’d be talking to a few ladies, one would walk away to the next convo, and do you know what the other lady would say behind her back?? She would say, “I LOVE her. She is so cute/cool/funny/smart. I want to be friends with her!”

Isn’t that just the best? It happened on repeat, and I am just so here for that. I also heard people saying positive things directly to each other, many many times, and I just love that this is the crowd that came out.

I am a bit of an odd-ball when it comes to networking.

I love it.

Most of the time when “networking” comes up, people groan. Here’s the thing for me though- I love people (weird, I know) and I am a total business nerd. Networking for me is all about connecting and celebrating.

5 years ago this July, I started a business. I like to say that I help people see their best selves. Funny thing is, this business has turned around and helped me see MY best self.

I am having the time of my life photographing families, businesses, and women over 40. Serving clients at a high level has been some of the most fun I've ever had in my life.

I've been blessed to receive so much education, and now, a funky and beautiful 1,000 sq ft space in Taylors.

I'd like to give back by starting a community for women in business. My friend, Julie Davis, make-up artist whiz and fellow business geek, and I are starting a monthly in-person group where we can share education, challenges and wins, and encouragement.

You don't have to be a business expert to come, just a bit of an enthusiast.

Oh, and a woman. Let's go, ladies!
