Be still.
That's not passive.
That's the hardest active thing you'll do.

You already know He is God.
Now be still in that fact.

Stop striving. Stop solving.
Stop trying to figure out what stillness already holds.

He is God. That's settled.
Be still and let that be enough.

The Potter knows what He's making.
The clay just has to stay on the wheel.

Clay doesn't resist. Clay yields.
That's the whole job.

The One shaping you knows exactly what He's doing.

You are the work of His hand.
Not your own.
Stay on the wheel.
Let Him work.

You can't follow someone you're trying to lead.
Denying yourself isn't about punishment.
It's about trust.

It's saying — I trust where You're going more than where I would take myself.

Self-denial isn't the destination.
Following Him is.

And you can't do that while leading yourself.

Let go of the lead.
Trust the One who knows the way.
Follow Him.

What if you stopped trying to figure it out and just acknowledged Him?

Trust with all your heart.
Not part of it. All of it.

Not leaning on what you can see.
Not leaning on what you can work out.
Leaning on Him.

In all thy ways —
not just the big decisions. The small ones too.
Every step. Acknowledge Him.

And He shall direct thy paths.
Not might. Not maybe. He shall.

Trust Him with all of it.

What if total surrender was actually the most reasonable thing you could do?

A living sacrifice.
Not dead. Alive. On the altar. Every day.

Paul doesn't say surrender is extreme.
He says it's reasonable.

By the mercies of God.
That's the reason. That's the only reason you need.

You don't work up surrender.
You receive mercy and surrender is what comes out.

Surrender isn't something you do.
It's the essence of gratitude.

He didn't say rejoice when.
He said rejoice alway.

Always. Not sometimes. Not when it's easy.
Always.

Not a response to circumstances.
A declaration about who He is.

This week you delighted.
You tasted. You dwelt. You desired one thing.

Now rejoice. Alway.

He doesn't just meet you where you are.
He lifts you higher.

Not crawling. Not surviving. Riding.
Upon the high places of the earth.

And it's not something you climb to.
He causes it. He lifts. You ride.

Delight in Him. That's the doorway.
And He takes it from there.
