Title: Mount Washington Tavern – The National Road

Description: Morning light spills through the trees and settles across the Mount Washington Tavern, warming the place where countless travelers once paused on their westward journey. The National Road winds just beyond the fence, its history carried on the breeze that brushes the tavern’s weathered timbers. Here, in the hush of the Laurel Highlands, the past lingers like a soft ember—glowing, patient, and alive.

Happy Flag Day!!! “There is no greater, more beautiful, and instantly recognizable symbol of our Nation and its ideals, traditions, and values than the flag of the United States. The thirteen stripes of red and white remind us of the courage and steadfastness of those who pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor to found this great experiment in republican government. The white stars on a field of blue stand for the 13 original colonies that formed the nucleus of the new Nation and the 37 states that have become part of our Nation since then. Those many stars recall the saga of our growth as we spanned a continent. The colors of our flag signify the qualities of the human spirit we Americans cherish: red for courage and readiness to sacrifice; white for pure intentions and high ideals; and blue for vigilance and justice.” ~ President Reagan 1986

Title: Laurel Highlands sunset — where peace meets its own reflection.

Description: “There are moments when the world grows still enough to show you your own reflection — not in the water, but in the life you’ve lived to reach this light. Stand in the quiet, breathe in the gold, and remember: even after the storms, the sun still knows where to find you.”

Title: Heart of the Canyon

Description: Deep within the winding chambers of Antelope Canyon, a natural heart reveals itself where the sandstone curves fold into a perfect embrace. A single beam of sunlight descends from above, igniting the walls in molten hues of gold, rose, and ember. The canyon seems to breathe in this moment—its ancient pulse glowing through layered stone shaped by centuries of wind and water. What emerges is both delicate and powerful, a symbol carved by time and illuminated by the desert’s quiet grace.

Title: “Ebenezer’s Quiet Crossing”

Description: The Ebenezer Covered Bridge in Mingo Creek Park glows against the lush greens of summer, mirrored perfectly in the still water beneath it. Its wooden frame and stone supports feel timeless, a reminder of the craftsmanship and rural heritage that shaped the region. The scene holds a gentle calm, as if the world pauses to honor the bridge’s enduring presence.

Title: After the Storm, the Light Returns

Description: A brooding sky still carries the weight of the passing storm, its dark clouds torn open just enough for heaven to breathe through. Shafts of golden light spill across the rolling hills, touching the land like a quiet blessing after turmoil. In the distance, a small red‑roofed barn stands resilient among the greenery, a reminder of steadiness in the midst of nature’s drama. The scene captures that sacred moment when the world exhales—when the storm has broken, the shadows retreat, and God’s light finds its way back to the earth.

Congratulations to my friends at Dunlap Creek Lake for the ribbon cutting of your new walking trail around the lake. A beautiful addition to the park, one I have enjoyed numerous times already.

Title: “When the Lake Turns to Fire”

Description: Golden hour settles over Dunlap Creek Lake like a slow‑moving ember, the sun sinking low as if it’s being drawn into the water itself. The sky burns in layers of orange and molten gold, each ripple on the lake catching the light and sending it drifting toward the darkening tree line. The silhouettes of the woods stand in quiet contrast, framing a moment where the world feels suspended between warmth and shadow. It’s the kind of light that doesn’t just illuminate the landscape—it lingers in the heart long after it fades.

Title: “Under the Pier of Burning Skies

Description: The sun sinks low beneath the horizon, spilling molten gold through the wooden ribs of the pier. Each beam becomes a silhouette carved against a sky shifting from deep cobalt to firelit orange. The wet sand mirrors the light like a sheet of hammered brass, while the tide whispers in, soft and steady. It is a moment suspended between day and night—quiet, radiant, and fleeting.

I was extremely honored to have one of my photos selected for the Westmoreland Art Nationals 2026. This is the second year in a row I have been selected. The Westmoreland Art Nationals is a prestigious juried fine art and photography exhibition with over 600 entries submitted and 100 pieces selected to the exhibition. I am very humbled to have been selected. Thank you to everyone who has supported me on my photography journey, especially this last year and a half during my battle with Myasthenia Gravis. Thank you to the Westmoreland Arts & Heritage Festival for another great exhibition.
