Lots of couples ask if they should do engagement photos, and I always recommend it. Why? Not only are these photos great for remembering this special season of your relationship, it’s also SO helpful to have an opportunity to be in front of the camera with your wedding photographer before the big day. You get a sense for how I work, what it’s going to feel like, and you get a huge confidence boost as well. I also get a sense for how you two interact as a couple, your genuine smiles and laughs, whether you’re serious or playful, and how to guide you so you’ll feel relaxed on your wedding day. Plus…we just have a great time, and every couple comes away realizing they are even more excited for their wedding photos! Truly. 💕📸 So relax, I’ve got this, and let’s go have a great time taking photos and chatting!

17 years ago they met as first years at Drake…life took some turns, time went by, and they found their way back to each other. When you marry your best friend, everything feels easy, and that’s exactly how this day felt. No stress, just ease and fun and joy. Ryan kept us laughing, and I watched as Becca looked at him and said, “He’s always like this…” with a smile on her face. When you delight in each other every day, there’s nothing better than 💕

Who knew taking a chance on the dating app and that tailgate meet up would lead to the happiest day of your life? 💕 Congrats Tressa & Jace!!

So many people in their lives have been cheering this couple on, and it was such a joy to be there to photograph every moment. From the wild dance moves of the groom’s nephew to the group friendship bracelets, couldn’t have asked for a sweeter and more fun couple!

And a quick note on the last photo - I rarely come to weddings with a photo request for me, but this was one that I added to the family photo list. The third and final Watts family wedding - 10 years of photographing each of their weddings and getting to know this incredible family - what an honor it has been! 💕 thanks for inviting me to be part of it. 🥺🫶

Finally married! 💕 The last few years have been busy with moves and job changes, updating their historic home, caring for their sweet pups, so when Anna & Kyle reached out about a small laid back wedding, it totally made sense.

My fav part? All the sweet onlookers visiting the capitol that witnessed a surprise wedding - the little kids loved it, and there was a hearty applause at the end of the brief ceremony.

My number one tip on your wedding day: take 5 minutes alone to enjoy sunset. 💕🌅

Our couples prioritize time with their guests, but they also prioritize time together. Taking just 5 minutes to step away once dinner is served or during cocktail hour gives you a moment to pause together…reflect on the momentous occasion, and just share a tiny slice of your day alone. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a single newlywed couple who has regretted taking a moment alone 💕

Bonus: it’s the best light of the day and perfect for a few romantic photos, but really this is just a time for you to enjoy being married!
