She has been dreaming of this session for years. Jeans, white shirts, timeless, framed all over her house. We finally made it happen and I am still not over it.

They walked in with the best smiles, trusted every idea I had, and spent an hour just having the absolute best time together. Laughing, playing, fully present with each other. I was just there to catch it.

That energy is everything. You cannot fake it. You can only show up and let it happen.

Hope these will be going on her walls forever.

I took this photo of my son last week and then sat in my car for a minute because I could not believe how big he is getting.
Nobody warns you that it happens in the background. You are just living your life, making lunches, doing bedtime, answering emails, and then one day you look at your kid and think: when did that happen? When did he get that tall? When did his face change? When did he stop reaching for my hand without me asking?
I am a photographer. Documenting moments is literally what I do for a living. And I still feel like I am missing it.
So this is your reminder. Not to book a session. Not to do anything. Just to look up today. Put the phone down for five minutes and actually look at them. The way they laugh. The thing they are obsessed with right now that they will forget about in three months. The version of them that only exists today.
That is the one worth remembering.
Share with a mom who needs to hear this today. 🧡

Nobody warned me that being a photographer meant crawling on the ground, contorting into weird angles, and lifting a camera bag that weighs more than my kids.

Britney said it best. 🎤

If you know, you know. Tag a photographer who needs to see this. 😂

This one is for the small business owner who opened a local Facebook group and immediately felt sick. You scroll through and see hundreds of recommendations in your same industry. Same city. Some of them have more reviews than you. Some have lower prices.

And your brain goes: why would anyone pick me?
Here is the thing nobody talks about enough. Many industries are oversaturated. Photography. Real estate agents. Coaches. Contractors. There is barely a single field where someone is not looking at the numbers and thinking there is no room left.

And yet, people are still booking. Still buying. Still choosing. Every single day.

Because oversaturated does not mean overcrowded for you specifically. It just means there are options. And the person scrolling through that list is not just looking for the most popular one. They are looking for the one that feels right to them. Pricing. Style. The vibe they get from your page before they even click your name.

I am a big believer that this world has space for everyone. Not as a motivational poster kind of thing, but as something I have lived and watched play out over and over again in my own business and in the businesses of people around me. The right clients exist for you. They are out there. And they are looking for exactly what you offer.

But here is the part that matters: you have to show up for them to find you. Keep putting your work out there even when it feels like nobody is watching. Keep learning. Show up in the groups, support other businesses, share what you know, celebrate other people’s wins. The more you give to the community, the more the community gives back.

In photography for example, the family that wants bright, colorful, playful photos is not the same as the one that wants something moody and editorial. The client who needs to stay under a certain budget is not the same one ready to invest in a full experience. They are all scrolling the same list.

So keep showing up. Keep being exactly who you are, not a version of yourself that you think the algorithm wants. The right people will find you. The world has room for you.

Save this for the next time the anxiety creeps in!

Okay so I lied. It actually is sunshine and rainbows over here. 😂
And golden fields. And snowy mornings. And fall colors that make you want to cry a little. And spring blooms that show up every year like they have something to prove.
Connecticut in every single season is just built different.
This is what happens when you do work you genuinely love, every season becomes your favorite one while you are in it. Fall feels like magic until spring arrives. Spring feels perfect until summer golden hour shows up. And somehow winter always surprises you with something quiet and beautiful you did not see coming.
If you have been waiting for the right season to book, I have news for you. There is no wrong one.

To every mama who got everyone out of the house this spring for family photos… this one is for you. 🥹
Nobody talks about what it actually takes to make a family session happen. The snack packing. The shoe finding. The outfit that looked perfect at home and had a mysterious stain by the time you arrived. 😂 The logistical miracle of getting everyone in the car, fed, dressed, and in a good enough mood to take a beautiful photo together.
It is a lot. And you did it anyway.
Here is the thing nobody tells you. While you were busy getting them ready and making sure everyone was okay, I was watching something else entirely. The way your kids fold into you without even thinking about it. The way they look for your face first in every single moment. The way this family you guys built just moves together like its own whole world.
That is what I am there to capture. Not the perfect pose. Not the perfectly coordinated outfits. Just the realness of all of you together in this exact season.
Because this season is short. So beautifully brutally short. And one day, I promise you, you will be so glad you showed up.
These photos are for you, mama. All of it. 💛

What actually happens when you reach out to book a session with me.
Because it is a lot more than just picking a date and showing up.
And I think you deserve to know that before you even hit send on that first message.
It starts with a conversation. Always. When you inquire I am not just checking my calendar. I am thinking about you. Your family.
Your season. What you are hoping to walk away with. I want to know how old your kids are, what time of day they are at their best, what kind of energy your family has: are you the fun laughing pile-on type or the quiet type. Both are beautiful. Both need a different approach.
From there I help you figure out the details that actually matter.
The time of day that will give you the most beautiful light. The location that fits your family's personality... a wide open field, a garden, a quiet wooded path, somewhere local and meaningful to you. The season that makes the most sense for what you are envisioning. And the collection that fits what you actually want to do with your images. Because there is a big difference between wanting a few digitals for your phone and wanting a wall gallery that makes you relive those memories every time you walk by.
By the time we get to your session you are not a stranger showing up to meet a photographer. You are a family I already know something about. And that changes everything about how the session feels and what we are able to create together.
This is such an important part of my work. Not just the photos.
The experience that leads to them.

Sometimes the most beautiful backdrop is already yours. 🥹
These were taken a few weeks ago right in our own backyard. The bushes were blooming, the light was doing its thing, and Zac was being Zac. 😂
We have been spending so much time outside lately. Working on the house, the backyard, making it a space we actually want to live in this summer. And somewhere between the planting and the planning I looked up and thought… “wait”. This is already beautiful. Right here. Right now.

So many things are blooming right now and I feel that in every part of my life. I am so excited for what this summer is bringing and I cannot wait to share it with you.

A mama and her baby girl. Both celebrating. Both glowing. Both absolutely winning.

This duo shares a birthday week and they showed up to Elizabeth Park in the most beautiful coordinating colors.

The park was packed that day. People everywhere. And this little one? Completely unbothered. Soaking everything in with those big curious eyes like she owned the whole garden. A total trooper from start to finish.

This is what mommy and me milestone sessions are really about. Not just documenting how fast they are growing; though that matters so much. It is about freezing a whole feeling. The way she reaches for her mama. The way mama looks at her like she is the whole world. Because she is. 🥹

If you have a first birthday or want to document some mommy and me moments, this is your sign. These seasons go so incredibly fast.

Booking summer and fall milestone sessions now. Dm me to learn more.
