52Frames - Week 36 Reflections

“Upside Down World ”
Where the moonlight lingers and the forest dreams twice—once above, and once in reflection.

This image is a reflection of trees in the pond near us. I flipped the image, added some blue to the pond (now "sky" ) and added the moon in post.

52Frames Week 29: Distortion

Vastness & Velocity

This week's challenge was to use distortion in your composition. Thanks to our CMA Chapter ride on Saturday, I was able to capture this image.

And yes, trying to do photography from the backseat of a moving Harley is a bit challenging in itself 📸 🙃

52Frames Week 28: In The Center

This week's challenge was to do the one thing that you really should generally NOT do in photography: place your subject in the direct center of your frame.

The reason you shouldn’t do this normally is because your compositions can feel lost in the center, especially if it's a human subject with a ton of "head room" above them.

Generally speaking, your subjects will appear more flattering when they are leaning towards a side, or a third, not in the middle. However, leaning into this method and positioning your subject dead center could yield striking results, drawing attention INTO your frame and creating a unique sense of balance or symmetry in your photo.

52Frames Week 26: A New Technique

"Where Water Remembers"

This week's challenge was to try a photography technique you hadn't done before. I decided to try a technique where you overlay an image with another image of a texture, then blend the overlaid image however you'd like.

Original images were a metal fish ornament in our garden and a worn, woven patio chair. Images in the comments.
