Some scenes from the Quaker Steak & L**e in Austintown, Ohio last Sunday on Kodak Portra 160 film shot on a Nikon F4. Wish it wasn’t so overcast, but I was still happy with how well Portra resolved the different colors on the cars. They have car shows every Sunday in the summer (plus the wings are great!) 🎞️🚗

A trip to Southern Ohio brought me back to Wright-Patterson for the fourth time. As always, the National Museum of the United States Airforce is a treat, it’s really difficult to see all of it in one afternoon, but here’s a few displays that caught my attention (I could probably make a post on each hanger if I wanted too, there’s so much to see!)

After years of driving through Mansfield, I finally made the pit stop at the old Ohio State Reformatory. *Unsettling* doesn’t even begin to describe this complex, but it’s definitely worth a look.

Some fun out in Downtown Sharon, PA this afternoon for their 43rd annual Father’s Day car show! There was SO MUCH that caught my eyes (the ‘59 Cadillac in the first frame is especially *gorgeous*), as did the ‘67 Pontiac GTO and a STUNNING ‘53 Pontiac Chieftain.

There was the normal slew of Corvettes, Mustangs, Camaros, Firebirds, Chargers, and other fun stuff, but here’s what really caught my eye. Always love seeing a ‘69 GTO “Judge” in person too, they always make me think of the tune that Paul Revere and the Raiders wrote for the old television commercials for THE JUDGE. There was a very rare (less than 500 produced) ‘54 Kaiser Darrin on display too! 🚗

Had to make a pitstop at the American Sign Museum in Cincinnati on my way back from the NCAA track regionals in Lexington. I visited the museum last year, but since the building only holds a *third* of the owner’s collection, there’s always something new to see!

As it turns out, they had some original sketches on display from the Peskin Sign Company in YOUNGSTOWN! Peskin went out of business in 2018 following the retirement of ownership, but seeing a piece of home while on the road was a treat. I’ve talked on here before about my Nana and how she worked at Arby’s corporate during their early years, so seeing those neon 10-gallon hats always brings a smile to my face. Peskin was still manufacturing signs for Arby’s well into the 2010s! Loved the Sparkle sketch too! The former location on South Ave still had that signage until they closed a few years ago.

If you’re ever traveling through Cincinnati, this is a MUST SEE! 🌃
