Want some life advice? Keep reading. 🫶🏼

Guess who will be working tomorrow? Me! 😂 My choice though! I rescheduled a session because tomorrow’s weather is supposed to be almost a repeat of the BEAUTIFUL weather we had today!

Something I’ve learned from running a small business that applies to life too…

Protect your energy.

If you’re naturally a giver, it’s really easy to give too much of your time and energy away. Not everything needs a yes. Not everything deserves the same amount of you. And I’m learning that it’s okay to pay attention to where my energy is going and where it’s being reciprocated.

You can still be generous, care deeply and give people your best without giving everyone unlimited access to you. 🫶🏼

Took me a while to learn that one. Still working on it. ❤️

Landon understood the assignment.
One of my favorite parts of senior sessions is finding locations + looks that actually fit you… and Franklinton DELIVERED. Edgy, urban, dressy if we want it to be, and definitely a spot I need to use more.
Landon absolutely rocked this session.

Longer sessions will forever have my heart. 🤍 They give us time to settle in, find our flow and actually CREATE without feeling rushed.

Some of my favorite images happen when a senior trusts me enough to just go with whatever idea pops into my head, and Lexi and her mom did exactly that. ✨

Honestly, if I had my way, I’d photograph every senior more than once. 😂 I have way too many ideas for new locations, themed shoots, senior guide content and some future photography education.

Soooo past seniors who still hang out with me and show my work some love… don’t be surprised if I come looking for you someday. 👀🤍

It’s always such an honor when a family comes back to me for another senior. 🤍
I had the privilege of photographing beautiful Lauren for her senior photos after photographing her older sister, Morgan, a few years ago. There’s just something extra special about getting to capture more than one milestone for the same family.
Thank you sooo much, Davis family, for trusting me with such a special part of your girls’ journeys. It truly means more to me than you know! 🤍
And lauren davis … you are absolutely beautiful! ✨

Wanna know what lenses I use the most?

First, I’m a Nikon girl…always have and probably always will be! I wear a harness at my sessions with two cameras. One with a 35mm and one with an 85mm.

I’m thinking of creating some photography guides. Would you all be interested in them?

Also, doesn’t gorgeous Ella remind you of Gwyneth Paltrow???

How many times have I used this location for sessions?

Hundreds.

How many times have I used the spot in the first two photos?

Zero. 🤍

And THAT is one of the things I love about my longer sessions.

We have time for me to get into a flow, expand my creative eye, wander a little and discover new spots…even at locations I’ve photographed hundreds of times.

My senior sessions are around 3 hours and my family + couples sessions are around 2, and there’s a reason for that.

It gives us time for multiple locations and several outfits. Time to get to know each other so I can figure out what types of poses and photos feel most like YOU. Time for little ones to warm up to me, relax and actually have some fun. Time to stop when we see pretty light or an unexpected little spot that I suddenly need to photograph you in. 😂

Most importantly, it means we don’t have to rush.

I can slow down, be creative and give you a gallery that feels complete, with a mix of the classic photos you’ll always want and the more creative images that make your session unique.

Could I do it faster? Probably.

But this is what works best for me, my creativity and the experience I want to give you. And after all these years, I’ve learned not to mess with what works. 🤍

We turned a corner and found this gigantic ivy wall and obviously had to pose with it. 😍 It was so beautiful I would host ivy wall mini sessions here, lol.
And speaking of beautiful… Lexi was absolutely GLOWING. ✨ And can we appreciate how perfectly she styled this outfit?! The cutest dress, layered jewelry, bracelets and the PERFECT heels to finish it off. 🤌🏼 This is how you take a cute dress and make the whole look photograph beautifully. 🤍
