I just came across a studio session planning tool called "Set.A.Light" that I wish I had 15 years ago when I started Studio One Pensacola. This amazing software product allows you to define the dimensions of a virtual or actual studio or outdoor location and populate it with 3d versions of cameras, lights, models, props, furniture, and more. It's all in 3D, and you can modify the characteristics of each object.
I work remotely from my home office/studio, and my shoot location can vary significantly worldwide. With "Set.A.Light", I only need the approximate dimensions and a few snapshots of the set. These should show the location of doors, windows, equipment, and furniture. I use this information to simulate the set on my computer with 3D versions of the objects, allowing me to plan a shoot before the session. I then send the resulting shoot list diagrams to the model or client so the set is ready when I log on to the session. What is Remote Photography?

Remote Photography, which emerged during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown, allows photographers and clients/models to engage in photo sessions from different physical locations, often miles or countries apart. This innovative approach harnesses the power of the Internet and cellphone technology, providing a convenient, safe, and comfortable photo session for all involved.

Remote Photography uses cellphone camera technology to conveniently photograph the client/model at their location, anywhere in the world, such as their home, beach, park, or vacation spot.

Remote Photography uses internet technology to adjust the client/mode’s cellphone camera settings such as focus, aperture, and shutter speed and to communicate and collaborate with the client/model, selecting the background, adjusting the client/model's pose, and composing the shot from the photographer's home, office, or studio anywhere in the world.
The images are encrypted and securely but temporarily stored on the cellphone during the photo session.

After the session, the photographer transfers the images from the cellphone to cloud storage, processes them, and delivers them to the client/model as they would after an in-person session.
Studio One Remote uses the popular and secure Shutter App™ (from the App Store or Google Play) on the cellphone and the Shutter Studio™ web portal on the photographer’s desktop/laptop for all our remote photo sessions.

Remote Photography (AKA Virtual Photography) is a type of photography where the model and the photographer are in two separate locations and are connected by the internet and mobile phone technology. The model uses their mobile phone to enable photography of themselves at their location, anywhere in the world. This can be their home, beach, park., or vacation location. The model downloads the "Shutter App™" for FREE from Apple's "The App Store™" to her iPhone. The model and photographer communicate in real time using the mobile phone's video, microphone, and speakerphone. The photographer uses the Shutter Studio™ portal for FREE and uses their desktop/laptop computer to collaborate with the model in real-time through posing, framing the image, adjusting the camera settings (focus, aperture, shutter speed, and sensitivity), and taking the picture online from their location. This can be the photographer’s office, studio, or home. The images are uploaded to cloud storage as they are taken. After the remote photo session, the pictures are downloaded to the photographer's computer and processed just like an in-person session.
