After a few paddles I'll say I've gotten more space with these stickers on and less weird looks when I've pushed folks away with my paddle. There's nothing subtle about these stickers. Warning - If you are using this on kayaks, expect kayakers to give you a hard time but respect your desire for space. And give folks a chance...don't sit in small eddies where folks will come in quickly nor at places folks will want to go, such as along the shore where an eddy recircs to get folks back up to a wave.

Tired of having folks crowd in an eddy or jumping on a wave. Each Sticker Measures 7 Inches by 7 Inches. Not as heavy duty as the kccny stickers, but not bad. Social distancing sticker I put on the day before paddling just in front of the cockpit has held up well. Social distancing sticker I put beh...

KCCNY 4" round decals heavy weight (3.6 mil thickness) UV resistant decals suitable for boats, cars and paddles*. White BOPP (biaxially oriented polypropylene film) stickers, waterproof with permanent adhesive. Not flexible enough for rounded surfaces like helmets. Selling at close to cost hoping you all will spread the good kccny word by putting these on your boats, paddles, cars, coolers. The possibilities are endless. [ 42 more words ]

Do as I say, not as I do - advice on cautious paddling in the covid epidemic.

In this new normal many of us our self-isolating enough that we don't want to get in a car with others even for a head hanging out the window shuttle...so the obvious solution is a bike (or hike) shuttle. I've also seemed way too many FaceBook posts about missing gear - more during this special situation but also during the old normal. [ 445 more words ]

One of those days you expect to be nice and are pleasantly surprised. It had rained heavily nearly a week ago and then gotten cold, so as the river came down it coated logs and rocks with ice and icicles. Lower flow meant a pretty dry run. And unlike our friends who went skiing, no crowds on the Moodna. Sun was out, wind was non existent. [ 313 more words ]

I hope everyone had a great paddling season this year! Last weekend we had our annual KCCNY meeting and dinner, and I continue to be incredibly grateful for our paddling community - it was a pleasure meeting a number of legacy members, and welcoming a few new members to the club as well. Furthermore, I’m excited to be taking the reigns as President of KCCNY, and can only hope to fill the huge shoes left by Tom Hart - thanks Tom for all of your hard work. [ 47 more words ]

After much back and forth we hiked down the damn dam (aka F. E Walter Dam) and launched in the rapids of doom which proved to be almost nothing, though certainly enough to wake you up and probably the steepest drop on the entire the river...and many hours later we made it the Glen. Probably too many miles but really beautiful.
