🏟️ EVENT SAFETY GUIDELINES

• NO BAGS/BOOKBAGS/BACKPACKS are permitted inside the event.

• NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINKS are permitted.

• Middle school-aged students and younger must be accompanied and supervised by an adult age 21 or older throughout the event.

• ALL WCPS HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS must present a valid digital or physical student ID for admission.

• SHHS STUDENTS must also be checked in through the Minga Event Management System upon arrival.

• Tickets may be purchased at the gate with cash.

Aaaaannddd we’re back!
Rebel Threads kicked off today. We set up our new sewing space and the kids are excited to have a dedicated room to be crafty in (and decorate 😉). Then we wrote our goals for the year and brainstormed some things to make for a craft fair in November!
The goals they chose were:
🪡 improve our sewing skills (a good place to start)
⭐️ make stuff
🖼️ decorate our new space
💕 Make friends (could they be any cuter?!)
🧺 organize our stuff (a lofty ambition!)

If you would like to support our club please consider letting people know about us. We accept donations at the visitors entrance during school hours. Attached you will find our Amazon wishlist, we are lucky to not need a lot to start the year thanks to our generous community.

Some big *wishlist* items we are on the hunt for are:
-A portable (rolling?) peg board that we can use to organize our space and for displays in craft fairs.
-large/wide filing cabinets for fabric storage.
We could ideally get these secondhand.

🏃‍♂️ Putting in the Work! 🏃‍♂️

A great season-opening meet for South High Cross Country! The guys came out ready to compete and put together some strong performances on a tough Interstate Classic course. A great first test of the season, with plenty to build on moving forward! Here are their official times:

🔥 Rehan — 21:18
💪 Nicholas — 23:51
⚡ Dastan — 24:07
👊 Teague — 26:36

Every run is another opportunity to get stronger, build endurance, and learn how to push when the legs start telling you to slow down. The times matter, but so does the work that goes into getting better each day.

Keep stacking miles. Keep chasing improvement. Keep moving forward.

The athletic boosters need both adult and student help in the concession stand this fall. Please consider volunteering by using the linked calendar.

Parents, athletes and other members of the SHHS community. Please take a few moments to view our concessions assignment schedule for this fall. Creating a schedule is not always an easy task, especially with varying roster sizes and with some teams carrying JV while others do not. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

The calendar lists the assigned team as "Concessions: [JV or Varsity] [Sport]". If you click on it, you can see the location (press box or gym), times and available opportunities.

Using this week as an example. Varsity Boys Soccer covers during the JV game on Tuesday (the 5pm event). JV Boys Soccer covers during the varsity game (6:45); JV football covers during the varsity football game on Thursday; Flag Football helps during the Rebel Invitational Cross Country meet on Friday. (See photo below)

Even if your team is not assigned to help with concessions, we will accept any help any day, even out of season. We need at least two adults each night. Students can sign up for any role except cashier and running the fryer. At least one board member will be present each night. Some nights we have soccer in the stadium and volleyball in the gym. We try our best to have enough volunteers to open both concession stands.

We need all volunteers to sign up using the calendar linked above at least 24 hours in advance of the event. We need to know how many volunteers to expect, and it helps plan restocks. Students can earn SSL hours towards graduation. All volunteers receive a free meal ticket. We would love to have coaches sign up in addition to parents and athletes.

Concessions are a critical ongoing fundraiser for us all school year. The athletic boosters are here to support all our student athletes and teams, but we urgently need help.

The 2026 fall sports regular season officially kicks off this evening with varsity football visiting Century. If you can’t make the trip, Community Media Center in Carroll County will broadcast the game live on YouTube. This is a real broadcast link that we have verified. No other streaming links are being used for the game to our knowledge.

Kickoff is at 6:30pm.
