I managed to dust the camera housing off and sneak a couple quick swims in during the early stages of this Hurricane Lowell swell. Friday sunrise and Sunday afternoon gave a good mix of light conditions and the water was still very clear. Felt good to have sand stuck in strange crevices again 😂

Was fun to get some sand in every crevice again a couple days ago. I showed up to some small waves and opted to go for a run instead of shooting. When I got back I figured I might as well get in with the camera and dork around. Then it all of a sudden started pulsing a bit. Fun times! Not the cleanest shots I’ve ever gotten but I like how they’re framed with the stormy skies.

Swam up at 🥥🥥 the other day and ended up down the bend for a couple heats of the Legends contest. Sorry I don’t know who everyone is, but feel free to tag anyone I missed🙏🤙

Congratulations to on his win at this year’s HSA DUKES LEGENDS of the Bay contest. I swam down to the cave right before I had to take off and shot 2.5 semi final heats. Here’s a few shots of the newest legend his second to last heat.

12/31, 2019 going into 2020 I swam upper west side for nine hours and was ear to ear the whole time. Six years later now and my life has changed drastically. Despite the same wave breaking the same day of the year, I couldn’t make it up there. However, I made it up there yesterday with a fresh 2 year old in tote and split my time with keeping him happy and shooting waves. I would prefer to swim over shooting from land 90% of the time, but with a kid by my side who idolizes me it’s hard not to be ear to ear even with the difficulties of shooting with him by my side. My second kid just arrived into this world 11 days ago and my ability to shoot for the rest of this winter is uncertain, but I’m excited to hopefully snap some shots of some kind this year of you all surfing! Happy New Year ahead to everyone!! Also, I don’t know everyone in these shots, so please tag anyone you may know 🙏
