A little over three years ago, I was wandering down a beach on an island off the coast of Brazil. My mind was telling me not to go too far and that I should start walking back soon, but my body kept pulling me forward. At some point, I noticed a pathway going inland from the beach and following it, entered the most magnificent and unexpected forest. It was so unlike the sun-soaked setting I was just walking in, that it felt like I'd entered another world. That little discovery was nothing more and nothing less than finding a quiet, glorious little pocket of the world that was pure magic. And that's what it's all about for me - movements that lead to unforgettable moments.

It seems like everyone is posting photos of the incredible northern lights they saw last weekend and here I am just dreaming of them under a cloudy sky. At least I can live vicariously through my memories and pictures of when I did see these beauties last year in Alaska.. and dream of more encounters with Lady A of course

There seems to be something at my core that doesn't allow me to stay in the comfort zone for too long. Oh trust me I do love being cozy and warm and safe and hidden, and it is a necessary place to be at times, but I also feel this inner drive to leap off the cliff every once in a while. Anyone else feel this? I am building trust in my own knowing of where and when to leap, but I've done it enough times already to know that no matter what it'll bring me more knowledge and experience and ultimately closer to my authentic self. And the cozy place is also always there when I need it. Three years ago, this was the cliff I looked out at - if you'd like to join me on this view, take a look at my website at my newly published photos from a magical trip to Argentina. It's been a while, but I'm excited to be back with this view and more soon ✨

Two years ago I was standing here, taking in this view and all that it meant to me - to be able to travel freely and fully. Shortly after, I posted this quote to accompany this photo:
"We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us."
-Joseph Campbell
And shortly after that, everything I planned and dreamed of became impossible as I, and many others, returned home.
Now looking back, I can almost laugh at how much more I understand the meaning of this quote now than I did back then. How much more letting go I've had to do in the past two years than ever before. I feel so many more shifts ahead as more of this life that's waiting for me reveals itself. And what I'm learning, as hard as it is, is the trust and wonder that's required to be able to see it. That's my practice for now - digging deep in the archives of photos, searching for what might be revealed next. Thanks for following along with me.

The most I've been able to do these days is try to find and give gratitude to little moments. Like this morning when my body woke me up to make sure I did not miss this amazing sunrise. Like last night when sitting next to a fire and a loved one. Life moves quickly and we often feel we must move with it to keep up. But what I've learned is that in those moments when it's moving so fast your head spins, it's so much better to slow down, find your own steadiness, rhythm and breath, to observe and notice these little moments - for they are often more important and more remembered than the blur of life swirling around you.
