Matt was such a great guy and truly great for the sport. A familiar voice at both Penn Can and Afton, and someone who genuinely cared about the racers, the fans, and the racing community as a whole.

There are certain people who simply make the sport better by being part of it, and Matt was absolutely one of them.

The racing community lost a good one. Rest easy, Matt. You’ll be greatly missed. 🖤🏁

Our beloved Matt Lewis passed away Sunday afternoon, at his home, with loving family by his side, after a courageous battle with AML Leukemia. Arrangments are pending with Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, and we'll share that information when we have it, but for now--our thoughts and prayers are with his family, and our hearts are broken. 💔

Mother Nature had the final say tonight at Afton Motorsports Park. 🌧️🏁

With just two features left on the schedule, the rain rolled in and brought Championship Night to an early end - but not before we got plenty of racing in.
