We took a ride down the Withlacoochie River today. It was a short trip in late afternoon but lots of wildlife. Amazingly, we didn't see any alligators, but lots of water birds.

We took a drive to Silver Springs State Park here in Florida. It's famous for its glass bottom boats, so we had to take a tour in one. While on the tour we found out it was the setting for quite a few movies and TV series (the original Tarzan movies with J***y Weismiller, 2 James Bond movies, Sea Hunt with Lloyd Bridges to name a few.)

The tour was great and we saw Manatees, lots of different water birds, a few alligators and turtles galore!

We need to go back again in the future as there are Rhesus Monkeys and otters that we missed as we ran out of time to search for them. ☹️

Just a few photos from our drive down the Blue Ridge Parkway this week. Beautiful colors once we reached lower Virginia and into North Carolina. And the roads got SOOO crowded with the color change.

Just after that point, we got turned off the Parkway, it's still being repaired in places from Hurricane Helen's destruction.

We went to Three Sisters Springs to see the manatees. But none were there. So, we ended up at Weeki Wachee Springs Mermaid show.

We visited Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive. It's an 11-mile drive around the northern part of the lake. Loaded with all kinds of wildlife.

A short trip down the Withlacoochee River with our park manager. We saw lots of Great Blue Herons as well as Ibis and Cormorants.

We took an airboat ride today. Had a great time, saw a few dolphins and Great white pelicans which migrated from Canada.
