💜 An instant favorite from a recent portrait session.
As soon as I laid eyes on the purple butterfly bushes I knew we needed to use them in our family portraits!

My mom and grandma always had butterfly bushes outside the kitchen window when I was growing up. I've always loved them too!

For years, one of my favorite activities has been using field guides to identify wildflowers. On hikes, I'm that friend pointing out different plants and telling you their names... and I've noticed it carries over into my portrait sessions too!

Just this weekend I was telling the kiddos at the family session about my favorite Dawn Redwood tree in the park, pointing out trillium flowers, and chatting about cypress knees and ostrich ferns. It seems to happen at every session. 🤣

If you want a full time photographer, part time nature guide making your family photos - I'm your girl! ☀️
