Last week, my dad and I went to Colorado checking out the elk population. Of the 16 we saw, I only came away with one crappy shot of one. lol! I was in such awe of the place, I either didn't have my camera with me or just wasn't using it. Our trip got cut short, resulting in only a few photos. I also lost a piece of my tripod on the way there, requiring me to handhold everything. We had a good time nonetheless and I do have a few shots to share with you!

Found out, I need to do some more research on capturing a good moon rise picture. Also played with making an abstract out of one of the pictures.

A painter, I am not, so I won't be entering the Louisiana Duck Stamp Contest. This year's featured duck is the black-bellied whistling duck. My house on the edge of Bayou Sauvage was full of these. If you haven't heard them before, they are VERY vocal!

If they allowed photo submissions, I think one of these might be my mine. What do you think?
