Yesterday I wrote about what it means to make photographs without immediately asking where we’re going to share them.
And I keep coming back to the other side of that thought:
If a photograph doesn’t need an audience, what is it for?
Maybe it’s for this.
For printing.
For framing.
For putting on the walls of the home where the life in those photographs is actually being lived.
For your children to walk past photographs of themselves every day.
For the ordinary moments to become part of the rooms where more ordinary moments keep happening.
I’ve spent so much of my career making photographs that eventually end up on a screen.
And I’m certainly not suggesting they don’t belong there.
But I think somewhere along the way, we started treating the screen as the destination…
It isn’t.
Some photographs are meant to be lived with. 🤍
And because apparently I’ve thought myself all the way into an impromptu Labor Day sale…
‼️Through Labor Day, all prints in your online galleries are 30% off. ☀️
Maybe it’s time to get a few of them off the screen.✨
