Ring-Necked Pheasant -

Last month a group of us went to Monhegan island, a location I have wanted to explore for a long time. Upon arrival we were greeted by this beautiful Ring-Necked Pheasant hanging on power lines. Thought it was a perfect time to snap a portrait of this beautiful and fearless bird. A local even said “you don’t see that every day.”

I don’t think I’ve ever shared just how much I love puffins, so consider this my official puffin appreciation post.

These little seabirds aren’t just ridiculously adorable — they’re also incredibly tough. Puffins spend most of their lives in some of the world’s harshest environments, braving fierce storms and freezing ocean waters with ease. Despite centuries of human impact, many puffin populations have survived — and even rebounded — thanks to their resilience and adaptability.

To say they’re special doesn’t quite do them justice. Puffins are tiny, feathered powerhouses, and I love them endlessly
