Also at Costa Rica's Hotel Cerro Lodge on the morning before taking off to the airport we watched a lot of birds, including some very active macaws coming right up to the railing feeders. One macaw decided to sit on the napkin holder at one of the patio tables before tipping it over and bidding a hasty retreat. We also saw one of the most beautiful Costa Rica birds, the Motmot, with its unusual and beautiful tail.

Before heading to the airport for the trip home from Costa Rica we spent the early morning on the outdoor dining deck of the Hotel Cerro Lodge. It was amazing to see the White-faced Capuchin monkeys come onto the deck railing to grab the bananas on the feeders and often take them back to the trees to eat (as seen in the last few images).

Here are some Costa Rica hummingbird photos taken between two different places: Cope's place in the Sarapiqui region and the Paraiso Quetzal Lodge in the cloud forest. Noted on some of the photos are some non-hummingbird visitors to the flowers.

Photography day 8 took us on an afternoon boat ride down a Costa Rica river. (Sorry I don't remember the name.) It was a beautiful and fun afternoon, with lots of different bird species, and some alligators, one of which was too big to get in the camera frame.

Also at Cope's Place the very wet resident Sloth decided to pay us a brief visit by coming down from from one place in the trees and crossing over to another. It was so exciting to see her!

On our 4th day of photographing we found ourselves at the home of naturalist Cope. He has a veritable jungle in his backyard inhabited by so many species of birds that it was hard to choose what images to post. As you can probably tell by the raindrops on many of the birds it was a rainy day.
